Kingdom Hospital
I don't know what to say about it. This seems to be something you HAVE to watch from the very start. I felt lost and confused already. I guess thats what I get for chatting, watching GG #22 during commercials, and then trying to keep an eye on the tv when the show came back on. Of course, like with most miniseries, the very beginning tends to drag on which I think this one did. BUT the clips of the eps to come seem to be interesting, I hope that it holds true.
For those that watched it, can you believe that the jogger who got hit by that van, is nearly the SAME thing King went through when he was hit back in '99? Thats why King wrote that part into the series, to show ppl what he experienced when he was hit. I just hope that he wasn't that far off like the dude on the tv. He also voiced the Crow's voice in the series, considering the bird didn't speak much, I never would've known it was him doing it. That anteater is between a bear, an anteater, and some other ungodly creature. I know that it came from the dude's painting but I'm wondering what the creature symbolizes.
Two interesting facts about Stephen King's accident:
1.) Stephen bought the van that hit him, and it's sitting in his driveway.
2.) The person who hit him, died 7 months later on Stephen's birthday.
How freaky is that??!!

Umm... it was weird. In true King "made for TV" style. I erally can't decide if I liked it or not. I'll watch again next week, I think... decide as I go along, I guess. Interesting storyline, and definitely weird, and I guess the gloomy weirdness is what I like about it.
Yeah, I thought that was something, when we finally got to see what he was painting. And that creature... not sure, but I "think" it's good. Maybe? Or is it a bad thing trying to get him to unleash holy terror on the place?
Have you ever read the book this was based on? I'd be interested in reading the original story now, to see if it's better (like most books are) than the series, especially if this writer is anything like King. Yeah, and that accident scene was pretty chilling, just because you can practically see something like that happening any day, as it happened to him (King).
I did get annoyed at the trailer at the end, though. They showed WAY too much, if you ask me. I said to Dan as we were sitting there watching it "well, now I've seen practically everything that's going to happen here so... I don't need to watch it". But yeah, it looks totally freaky. And I haven't figured out yet... is this hospital totally nutty, or does it just seem that way, and in actuality it's just a plain old hospital that seems nutty from all the skewed POVs? What do you think?
Oh, and... Andrew McCarthy rocks! Man, he acts like this role was made for him, lol. He's very good in it. Heh.

Yeah I rarely watch tv myself unless its a hockey game, Sun night's Adult Swim, or if a movie is on I've been wanting to see. Did you ever check out King's tv series of Rose Red last yr? I can't remember if I ever brought that up or not.

I agree about the weirdness and not sure what I really think of it. I'm hoping that the upcoming eps will be worth watching, if not, I'm going to be pissed.
I haven't read the book but its on my list to tell my mom to get me since she works at a book distro warehouse. The accident scene, I was hoping that he didn't really go through all of that trama, if he did, my god, I'm so relieve he is alive today, even though he is still going through alot of hell and pain. (but at least the guy who caused it is dead, as cruel as that may sound).
Yeah I noticed that about the trailer too, I was like damn, why not just show us the rest of the eps now.

I'm just as confused as you are. I really don't know if its the hospital or just the staff. It freaked me out on how the whole hospital is and the only thing they seem to be focused on are the Neurologists docs even though it seems that the hospital has more to offer than that. Its enough to make a persons head spin.
Andrew's role did seem to fit him well, he creeped me out too but I'm glad to see that his character will have to help and partake in whatever it is they are searching for. And to think that we'd never hear or see his name again.

Without a doubt! I just couldn't comprehend what the hell was with these crazy doc's. I guess I should've just paid attention to it from the start. (I couldn't help it though, GG raw #22 begged me to watch it ^_~)

as for the anteater i'm not too sure what he represents but i'm sure we'll find out! lol! i do know he is connected with mary the little girl that haunts kingdom hospital. so i'll be watching next week.
that accident almost killed him ( i'm glad he recovered) and yes i knew he bought the van so it wouldn't end up for sale on e-bay. and i had heard the driver had died but i don't remember of what.

I had a blonde moment there going "it did?" but then I forgot that the creature and the girl were in the room together watching. Dude, when they first showed it walking to the dude's body on the road, I thought it was going to eat him or something especially when it opened its mouth. Before they showed that scene, they showed a clip of what was to come before commercials and I thought it was a bear just cause they only showed like the eyes and a little of the face.
I'm glad he survived the accident too even though he's still going through alot of pain. PLUS he's also going blind (he's been battling that for quite some time now), so this man sure has alot of shit on his platter.

yeah, it would have been a real steven king twist but then it would have changed the whole story .
yeah, his wife, tabatha helps him write along with her own writing career. that's pretty cool ( no i haven't read any thing of hers but i plan to.) i think she writes horror too.
