First off thanx to Barb for giving me a code. For the longest time I kept telling myself I wasn't going to do this cause my life is B O R I N G!!!! But even though thats true, this gives me something to do when I'm bored off my ass at work or at home when I have nothing else better to do. For the time being since I THINK I'm learning about this stuff, I"ll do a semi late report on whatever has happened since this month.
Speaking of this month, where has it gone??!!! The only thing that comes to mind for this month, at least since the beginning of the month was Animefest here in Dallas on Labor Day weekend. This is my 2nd yr for it and I've been trying to compare the two. Last yr had a smaller crowd than this yr, then again this con is a smaller con compared to Akon, which I actually like Afest for being that way. This yr it was a bit more planned out than last yr's. Ugh! Last yr was kinda like a chicken w/ its head cut off. The voice actors didn't even have a clue when or where their next panel or signing was going to be. Kinda like blind leading the blind. The dealers room for both times are still small and I guess thats a good thing cause it keeps me from spending too much money. Couldn't find SQUAT in them but at least I did get my Weiss Kreuz pins and my hella cool 3x11 sketch from Tut. I'm shocked that she even remembered to draw it before the con came around. *hugs Tut and tries not to sleep with the 3x11 sketch ^_^) Tut is the girl who has the handicapped boyfriend in the wheelchair and does great artwork. This yr's con went WAY too fast. I barely remember why I feel like I missed out on a few things cause I can't remember what I was doing (and it has nothing to do with the alcohol us legal peeps were drinking either ^_~) What always makes it fun for this con is my friends who are able to make it such as Anna, Kelly, and Lucky who came to it last yr too. Just a shame that Barb couldn't join in on the fun we had like last yr. MINUS the stalker Rachel *weeeeeeeee!!* But what made this one extra special was having Holly, Ali, Michelle, and Jessica come to this con. Being around Michelle and Jessica alot more this time was a hoot! I had a blast having them around. The enjoyment with events like this and with friends is being able to laugh all weekend, carry on and have fun. I wish Holly would've brought her camcorder that Fri night we went to Bennigans and a drunk guy named Kevin stopped by our table. Oh well, at least I have pics.
It was great to see Scott and Kirby again since they came to last yr's Afest. Scott I already saw at this yr's Akon so that was no biggie. Kirby got HOTTER!!! WOO WEE!!!! He looks mighty fine than what he did last yr and it was cool to see that Scott remembered me from Akon, even got a hug and kiss on the cheek when he saw me and told me about Akon (I was in my Ran costume the day he saw me, just have to finish scanning my Afest pics). I even got pics each of Scott and Kirby with me in my Colonel Une costume w/ riding crop in hand, ready to spank them ^_^. Speaking of which, our group did the same thing like we did last yr and got Scott some early bday gifts. I should've known that we wouldn't be able to get any free time with him till late Sunday. Also, how lucky can we be to have him as our next door neighbor when it comes to hotel rooms!!?? So Anna brought Scott over late late Sun. night and showered him with gifts. He was so funny with the way he reacted to everything, between doing funny voices to almost in tears at certain gifts we got him. It was more enjoyable to have him stop by the room like that compared to the shit we had to deal with last yr. Before you knew it Mon came around and was time to pack up and ready to check out. Regardless of any mishaps that might have went on or stalkers who wouldn't leave my room, I must say that I had fun. I just hope that Anna and Kelly can come to Akon next yr (Scott is so YAY!!) and then we'll have even more fun than what I normally do for Akon. Anna's the best and an awsome sweet girl to be around and proud to call a friend *hugs*
What also was cool was during the Fri VA panel, I was sitting on the right side of the rows and to my left, this little girl turns around and waves at me. It was the same little girl and her mom who was in front of me at Akon during the autograph line. Funny too cause I was in the same costume that she met me in and kept wanting me to play with her and wanted to see my Ran sword (plastic of course). I have no clue what it is with kids really taking a liking to me and I was never the kind to really like kids. Go figure.
I think I wrote enough for one night. Kept me a little occupied since I don't have much to print out at work just yet. Just waiting for this caffeine to kick in after drinking coffee and eating this Milky Way bar.
