Amongst the package of anime goodies that War Dove sent me the other day was Hellsing. I finally got around to watching up to eps 10 tonight at work (even though its only 13 eps :( * and I'm very hooked on it. I see that its now out on dvd but I'm afraid to hear what the dub sounds like. Its creepy and a bit gory but overall, its a pretty good anime. Alucard is the main dude in red who is a vampire out to hunt down evil bad vampires and ghouls. When I first saw a pic of him awhile back in an ad for the anime, he looks down right creepy but he has his moments when he has his hat off and glasses that he's not a bad looking guy. His seiyuu also does Faulken from Escaflowne. A few weeks ago, Lucky sent me two japanese links to Hellsing to check out some art and it confused me on who the blond dude was. She corrected me saying it was the main chick Integral Hellsing who is in charge of business and master to Alucard. She is a spiting image of a female White Fang Zechs, I kid you not! Long white blonde hair, blue eyes, White Fang outfit, wears glasses, and smokes a cigar. She kicks ass though. In this link below, she even has Zechs pose down to a T.

Go to this link http://hellsing.madtech.net/animeimages.html and scroll down to the "Seras (panty alert!! Mmm, drool), scheming Integral, and Alucard's Crazy Grin of Doom" link to see what I mean about Integral.

The younger chick Victoria, who joins the Hellsing division is supposed to be 19 but at times she looks alot younger. Her character design also reminds me of the one girl on FLCL. Walter, the devoted butler is an awsome guy as well that they have on their force. The bad guys in this anime are pretty down right creepy as well. Around eps 7 and 8 has the Valentine brothers and if my ears don't betray me, I think the blond brother's voice is done by Aya from Weiss. Yan, the other brother, who is quite freaky looking kinda sounds like Farf but in a more hyper tone than what he does on Weiss. Since the ending credits aren't subtitled, I don't know who does who's voice.

After seeing this and liking Alucard's character so much, I have an evil thought of wanting to cosplay as him now. Take a look at how hard I think his costume would be as well as I'm sure it would be a bit pricey having to find the right materials to make it, including drawing the designs on the white gloves.

Go to the same link as above and scroll down to the "Character Designs: Alucard and Integral" to see his profile.

I really like the relationship that Al and Integral have, which he happens to get under her skin from time to time. Must see if I can't find any fics on those two. Of course Alucard's name can be spelled differently but I didn't even think about his name backwards spells Dracula.

What I also found funny is the music in the anime. Its uses alot of different kinds of music but the ending theme I thought sounded so familiar, band wise that is. Its so funny to hear them use an American band Mr. Big which I'm sure that the majority of us knows who they are and what they sang back in their prime in the mid '90's.

So if anyone is interested in something different, I recommend watching this short anime series.

Once I'm done with this anime, I'm anxious to see the Cowboy Bebop movie that Dove also included in my package.

Must end this w/ a quiz I found while searching for Hellsing links *evil grin*. I had a hard time deciding on who suited me the most.

Which Hellsing character are you?
