Bubba and I went to unload some things at the local small dump and this old lady that pulled up in her truck got our attention. She said that she thinks that there was a puppy stuck between the long ass bin and the wall. We looked down at the space and there it was. We have no clue as to how long it might have been down there or how it got down there but it really didn't have much of any means to get out. I asked the lady how she knew it was down there cause you just can't see it by looking. She told me that while she was throwing her stuff in the bin that she could hear it whimper, yelp, etc.
We tried our damndest to get that puppy out of there between using a tow strap that bubba had in his toolbox on the truck to making a hook out of some copper tubing that the lady found. So while I tried to get the puppy to turn around by poking it with that rod, bubba went down towards the end of the bin to try and get it to come to him once it did turn around. So the damn pup would get near the end but not close enough to bubba could comforably grab it. Then the little bugger turned around again and started to move and my arm got tired of trying to keep that tubing where it was so the dog wouldn't move any farther. Then we switched places but the pup still didn't come the way we wanted so bubba tried again to get the strap around its body or hope that the damn thing would move so its front paws could get over the strap and he'd be good to go on getting it secured.
We were getting tired of going nowhere with that idea so he finally told me to get the small rope out of the truck and work it that way. I wonder why he didn't do this earlier since I pulled the rope out the first time and asked him if he wanted to try it. He made a loop in the rope and managed to get it around the dog's head and even though I'm sure the poor thing had to choke for a few sec's, it was the only way we could get it out of that tight spot and worked out it did. We were afraid if the pup would bite so we kept our gloves on and not long after bubba held it, it peed on him hehehehehehehe. I wasn't going to expect us to actually take the pup in but we did. Considering I'm not a dog lover, I'm hoping that if this dog stays, that it will be a mellow thing.
We think it might be a month or two old and once we get our shit moved and we are at the other place, it will going to the vet to get the full check up and shots. I see that it has fleas already and sometime soon we will go through that dreadful task of trying to give a bath. I'm hoping it doesn't put up a fight cause I have no problems when it comes to the cat either.
So on the way home I made sure to have an old cloth rag on the pup's bottom cause I didn't want it to pee on me cause of it being scared while in the truck. It didn't take long for it to fall asleep in my lap, poor thing had to be exhausted for all that we did to it in order to try and get it out. Still don't know what sex it is, didn't look yet.
Bubba stopped at the near by gas station to buy puppy food and once we got home, he put it in the room where the cat's food and box is. Laid out an old blanket and set it down and got food ready for it. Bubba would put little pieces on the blanket so it knows that it was there and it didn't take too long for it to notice it. Started to eventually dig into the little bowl we had the food in but bubba didn't want it to eat too much and get it sick. Last time I checked in on it, it was sleeping on the blanket.
We also semi blocked that doorway with some empty boxes and the big cooler, but the only thing is, the cat can't get in if he wants to eat or use his box. The cat did take a peek at the dog but chickened out and ran off.
What a busy morning and I still have to straighten my room out some just so it doesn't look so cluttered. I'm also down to using my laptop as my source of compy time cause I don't feel like messing with my other bulky set.
