Keep in mind, this is MY view about the dub, nothing set in stone nor is the law of what or how the anime should sound.

Well, first off, I think that at times I expect too much out of dubs when it comes to voices. Granted Last Exile is good but I think this is going to be like Gundam Wing's first few eps where I had to watch a few times to get the feel for the voices to adapt.

My, my, my, gee, I never would have thought of them using Crispin Freeman as Alex.....oh no siree.. *rolls eyes* So now we got 3 brooding men so far, Alucard, Amon, and Alex (I do see a pattern of A's going on here ^_~) that Cris is doing. Can't say for sure how I feel about it. I can think of other ppl who can do brooding men better than him but thats just me. I don't know, maybe its cause I think his voice almost sounds alike in what he does, so monotone. So till I see more of the dub, I'm going to be a bit skeptical considering that Alex really doesn't talk that much.

Hmmm....another shocker would be, having a feeling that Vash's VA was going to be in it but as who? Low and behold, he is doing Moran's voice BUT of course, in the dub, they call him Molan. I think his won't be so hard to get use to.

Claus sounds pretty decent (don't know who the VA is).

Lavi makes me cringe. She sounds okay when she speaks but once she yells or screams, its way too annoying, too high pitched. Going to take ALOT for me to feel differently about it later.

Sophie is so so right now, she didn't speak that much in the 1st dvd.

Al is perfect for her role

Tatiana sounds like Kiki from Gundam 08th MSTeam, hard to say if her voice is fitting for her character but we'll see.

Now the thing that confuses me is that all this time, I thought that Fat Chicken was a dude, not a female. And IF Fat Chicken is a female, "its" character voice is annoying as hell! The chick thats trying to do a deeper high nasal voice just doesn't cut it *cringecringe*

Plus after watching the whole dvd, I realized just how long it seems since I watched it from the very beginning. Some things have made more sense now but I guess thats the power of the dub, you can actually pay more attention to certain parts instead of trying to read and watch. They also have an interview with one of the designer's and having him explain what or where they got the concept of the story makes more sense too.

I know that this series has an awesome OST 1 and 2 so that always hooks me in, I think they picked a really good style for the music. Also got a chance to take some screencaps since my dvd player on my laptop has that option so once I get some time, I'll post the ones I took. (sorry if there will be more Alex than anything ^_~)

But I think once the 2nd dvd comes out, I'll probably warm up to it more than before.
