First off, I never thought I'd say this but I actually like Evanescence's cd. Reason I say that is I got so sick and tired of hearing Bring me to life on the radio and MTV that I started to shun it. But since I don't watch much tv anymore nor listen to music stations on the radio, I can tolerate it. Plus, bubba, if you happen to read this, yes I did open up your cd, I got tired of it just sitting on the nightstand unopened. And knowing how my brother-in-law is and his taste of music, I'm surprised that even he likes it too. I can't listen to Bring me to life w/out thinking about the Gungrave amvid that someone made of the game. I also love the song My Immortal, just reminds me alot of the relationship between Brandon and Maria in Gungrave. Haven't thought of who else that song would be good for, maybe Ed and Winry from Full Metal Alchemist.
The other selection of music is ELO (for those that don't know, it stands for Electric Light Orchestra). Someone left a bunch of cds here at work and this double disc set was one of them that I borrowed. I really like it, I mean, its not like I never liked their music to begin with, but hearing different songs is a nice treat. Its weird though how some of their songs sound ALOT like the Beatles, for instance, Mr. Blue Sky, is like an adaption to A Day in the Life, especially w/ these lyrics::
Woke up, got out of bed,
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup,
And looking up I noticed I was late.
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke,
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
Sure granted that Jeff Lynne was friends with George Harrison and they were also with the Traveling Willbury's but that song Mr.Blue Sky is late 70's, hence why it sounds so similar.
And to end it on a freaky note, the new Marilyn Manson cd "The Golden Age Of Grotesque", the whole cd KICKSASS!!! I get to the point where I have the whole thing on repeat and not get tired of it. Its really hard to say what rank I would put all the albums on, but I will say that this one is on the top of the best.
