I'm actually surprised that #1. I'm not in as much pain as I thought I'd be in and #2. the whole root canal thing wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be either.
I had bubba ask them when he had his filling appt awhile back to see what kind of side affects and pain I might go through so I could plan it if I had to take off work or not the same night. As our dentist told us as well as my older sister's dentist said that those who's tooth is in bad shape from the get go, will experience more pain than someone else who has it taken care of before it gets bad. Plus depends on how careful the dentist is too.
I noticed how getting the shot in the gums is alot more gentler than a few years ago. I could barely even feel it prick my skin. Awhile back the needle felt alot bigger hence the pain of being injected. The only thing I did feel and it hurt just minuscule of a second was when she started, I felt two small tugs/pinches in my tooth but forgot to ask her what that feeling was. She did ask me if I felt it when she was doing it. Other than that, the rest went fine. The annoying thing was that damn suction hose that left me cotton-mouthed till she took a break.
The best time for me to get dental work done is right after I get off work cause I'm too tired to focus on whats going on. It worked perfectly when I had my wisdom teeth out a few yrs ago, I was out like a light once they put that IV in me.
And no, she didn't prescribe me drugs. Told me to take 4 advil or whatever I use at home for pain (Aleve) when I go to bed and then take 2 more when I wake up O______O. I didn't bother taking the other 2 pills yet, I never took that many aspirin before. But said that if the pain gets too much for me, to call her and she'd call it in for me. I doubt that I'll need it, its barely throbbing now. The only thing I have a habit of doing is babying myself if I get something done that hurts. I'll have to be careful how I eat for the next few days, just cause I'd rather be on the safe side and not have pain shoot through my mouth.
I go back in on the 11th to get the permanent cap on it and then see the time frame to get the other tooth that I need worked on. We used up our dental insurance limit for the end of the yr and have to wait till it builds back up next yr -____-, how strange.
I was soooooooooooooo tired when I got home but helped bubba put the temp pipe on the line before we both went to bed. He passed out and I was trying like hell to sleep but my eyes wouldn't stay closed. I had one fat cat hogging my side of the bed, bubba on the other side, and FINALLY Smokey laid on the bed too on bubba's legs.
All I know is that I'm hoping to sleep pretty good this morning, thats for damn sure.

So the other week I told my older sis about what I had to get done at the dentist. She tells me that she had a root canal done not too long ago which is news to me and shocked me even more on the tooth that she had to have worked on. I'll tell ya the short story as to how she did this to her tooth:
Back when she was in high school, she was walking down the hallway talking to her friend and didn't watch where she was walking and smacked into the wall, chipping one of her front teeth in the process. And before anyone asks, why, yes she was born a blond *giggles over the fact* I think she had it capped or cemented, something, its been quite awhile. So all those yr's the tooth eventually gets bad, sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't pends on how lucky you are I guess. Thats the tooth she had to get her canal done on. Now I'm wondering if I'm going to need that later in the future cause I too chipped my front tooth and have a placement on it. And before you ask, why yes I am blond...in the head *lol* Except I chipped my tooth while biting down on my fork a few Thanksgivings ago *shudders* It shocked me when I felt it happen. Thank god it was only the side and not half the tooth. And while I think of it, one year my mom chipped one of her front teeth too, forget how she did her's. Why, yes, before you ask, she too was born a blond but is only blond in the head now *snickers*.
I see a pattern going on here. ^_~ *shakes fist*

I'm scurring like crazy to get everyone's packages out tonight if I go to the 24 hr post office. And once thats finally taken care of, I have to bust my butt on finishing this gift fic so I can have it ready by next week. UGH! Christmas so soon *faints*
Random thought: I love my icon, I may not be in the holiday mood, but the picture kind sparks a little something in me.
