For those wanting to get Gungrave......

Well bubba and I did some shopping this morning at Walmart and while he was looking for clothes, I mosied on over to the dvd area cause I wanted the Invader Zim dvd.

Wouldn't you know, in front of my face was Gungrave on DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHIT DUDE!!! I know that Walmart has been selling anime but GUNGRAVE??!! NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! And its only for $19 (and some change). This is only for the dvd, no boxset or anything like that. IF I would've known this, instead of the bullshit I went through online and DIDN'T want the box, I would've bought mine there. In fact, I'm going to have to keep my eye open now when the 2nd one comes out in Sept. 28.

So yeah, a convenient place and a cheap price for anyone on my flist who wanted to get it. But I can't promise that all Walmarts have it, I'd look around first. Plus they still carry the Gungrave PS2 game too for $19.

They're also starting Rurouni Kenshin, which I need to buy the first two DVDs of like soon. Along with $19 Gungrave. (YES!) *bangs head* I've got so much stuff I want to buy...the Sailor Moon S box set(*hears Beck snickering*), GG vol. 1, RoKen 1 & 2... The first half of Ceres... I'm so screwed.

I know I got a few dvds myself that I need to catch up on getting. Witch Hunter Robin #5 and the last one #6 (which comes out next month), Last Exile 3 on up, Hellsing 2&3, Fruits Basket 1,2&4. And then of course I got Wolf's Rain and Gungrave to focus on now too *sighs* But if I can't finish the others, I would at least like to try and keep up with WR and GG. Since I've pretty much quit buying doujinshis, I want to focus my money now on dvds and graphic novels.

Well, I can take comfort in that I just finished my Fruits Basket set. *smiles happily at shelf where all her DVDs are* I can see myself buying the Hellsing box set maybe a year from now. I wanna know who voices them!

Well I was just lucky that I won FB #3 at Akon 2 yrs ago at Funi's booth.

As for Hellsing, the only voice who is familiar is Crispin Freeman is Alucard (who is also Amon on WHR and Alex on LE and Tsume on Wolf's Rain, etc)

*blink* meep? thats surprising. i woudla figured it too violent for walmart...

Yeah that surprised me too knowing how Walmart is with their censored cds. But hell, if they can still sell guns and bullets in the store, I don't see why they can't sell Gungrave. Though I am pissed that they quit selling Newtype.

If I would've known that you were able to find them over there and that you were going to Japan (not at the last minute), I could've sent ya some money to get me the books while you were there. I hope to get the books soon, either on ebay or wait till I find some place online where I can get them at a decent price.

oi, sorry. ^.^ (). i have a bad habit of not posting mytrips on lj till the last min. x.x. however, i got the impression that the books were really recent. i bet as the anime picks up stateside and gets a fanbase you;ll see more copies

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention it in the other reply. I got the clearfile and pencilboard back in April. Though I don't know what I'm going to do with them besides sitting around collecting dust *lol* I'm sure it won't be too far along for the one person who I bought my Archive book from to get the other two in. I'm getting a GG hentai doujinshi in the mail hopefully in the next two weeks once I send my payment in. Not sure who all is involved since there wasn't much shown in the two sample pics, but I do know Mika is involved.

[identity profile] tyloncorp.livejournal.com 2004-07-23 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
where on earth did you get a gungrave doujinshi?!

[identity profile] yankeerose69.livejournal.com 2004-07-23 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw it on ebay and the seller has a site where they sell different kinds of anime products and they just so happened to have it there. I think I bought from these ppl before, can't remember. If the pics are worth it, I'll probably take what I can with my camera once I get it.
