Isn't just a saying anymore.
I did not know that when you have two full moons in one month, that is considered a blue moon. This only happens every other two yrs or so. Plus they also said that during a full moon and there happens to be a volcano erupting, the ash will make the moon look blue.
*speaks in Johnny Carson tone* I did not know that, interesting shtuff indeed.
YEEEEEEEES! HA HA HA (sorry had to add in Ed McMahon (sp?) in there too :P )
There's your useless news for the day.

Blue Moon....
Without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own
O.o.... not THAT kind of "blue"??? *giggles*
Yes... a blue moon is two full moons in one month, however, there is more of a definition to it than that. And they usually only happen every other year because of the cycle of the earth and all the pattern and such... the most recent "blue moon" was on Nov. 30, 2001.
But then there is the "blue moon" that is calculated by how many moons are in a season *summer, winter... etc...* and they are only apt to happen in the months of February, May, August, or November.
This one, the second one, is actually the recording of the third full moon in a season and is actually in use for the ecclisiastical calander *Christian* because the moons of a season were used and named to determine certain states of time; seasonal transgressions. They used it to determine when Easter was and Christmas because time follows a certain pattern and the moon with it. They called it a "blue moon" to keep themselves on track with time and not be thrown to miss-judge the times of the season.
Another useless fact/news for the day. ~_^

Hehehehehe, I wasn't sure if many would get the JC and Ed thing but the ones that stuck in my mind the most was Dana Carvey and Phil Hartman from SNL when they did the skits.
