OMG -- the manga-ka IS female. (I ran a web search in Japanese. Should of thought of that first *kicks self*)

Wow, my sis and I are both in shock. We both assumed that it was a guy since the name is masculine and she sounds like a typical male manga-ka (i.e., her language and the topics she chooses to talk about) in the extra pages of the FMA tankoubons.

Wow, though.

Sorry about the confusion there. Would it surprise you to know that that's not the first time we got the gender of a manga-ka wrong? ^_^;
