Finally went to see C&C Factory yesterday morning. I was actually trying to leave the house a bit later so that way I can get there right before the movie started. Well though the time said 11:30, it didn't actually start till 11:45 if not a tad later. I guess for now on, I'll plan ahead when it comes to the times. I hate having to sit through all that shit just to get to the actual movie.
The movie itself I actually liked. Depp made me laugh so many times cause he gave Wonka that silly smart ass wacky attitude. Plus he sounded too much like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers. Granted I still love the classic too but since this covered a bit more of the book than what the original did, it made me like it a bit more. AND the other good thing about this one, NO SINGING from the characters!!! aside from the Oompa Loompa's. And speaking of the Oompa's singing, what's the deal I seen on my flist and elsewhere complaining about how you couldn't make out what they were singing? I understood completely what they were saying. I truly miss the original Loompa's though, goes to show that Burton was trying to cut himself on saving some money by using one guy for that role. The grandparents actually spoke and were more lively than the original. It also made me laugh as to who Wonka's father was. God that movie had me craving chocolate sooooooooooooooo bad, totally not a movie to go see if your a chocoholic or before or when its that time of the month. I didn't realize just how old the original was made in '71 x___X
The part I did miss in this movie that I wished they would've done was when they were on the boat and the creepy song that Wilder/Wonka sang and this was the part you totally have to be tripping on or maybe he was tripping himself (then again, just watching the old movie makes you wanna get high yourself):
There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing
Is it raining
Is it snowing
Is a hurricane a-blowing
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of hell a glowing?
Is the grisly reaper mowing?
YES! The danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing.........
Stop the boat
For those that didn't know that are or aren't Marilyn Manson fans, but on their first cd "Portrait of an American Family", the very beginning song is the Wonka song which actually sounds creepy but so cool.
So here is the link to Manson's version of the boat song. Prelude (The Family Trip). If anyone downloads this to hear it, let me know please. I'm curious to see how creepy you peeps think it is too. (then again that whole cd is pretty creepy *luvsluvs*)
Now I'm actually craving to read the book again, the last time I read the book was back in elementary O___O.
And before I forget, I can't wait to see the Corpse Bride.

WHOA! Was shocked that I did actually get a bday card from my older sis (though as I said earlier, she's always late *lol) but I think I'd die of shock if I actually got something from my middle sis, which I know that will never happen.
Anyways, her card was just too cute not to share. So here it be::
Front:
Sure, I could have sent your bday card on time, but you know me.....
Inside:
I'm a rebel. I play the game my way and don't follow anybody's rules but my own. Yep, live free or die -- that's my motto. Oh well, I'm off. I am like the wind.
Happy Belated Birthday

Her writing on the left:
You know me, I don't know how to be on time.
Now you see why I thought the inside of this card reminded me of you
