Dexter Season 2 eps. 5 "The Dark Defender"

And finally the report w/ pics during our bike trip to Kerrville TX Oct. 11-13.

Pic links beneath the cut too. Yes, there are some pics of me riding my bike as well.

I'll try to recall what I can considering the majority of the trip was on the bike.

Met up with the group that Thurs morning but before that, bubba told me about packing an extra set of boots cause it might rain. I told him to quit mentioning the rain cause most of the time that jinx's us. Annnnnnnd....wouldn't you know it, it fucking RAINED!!! I believe we were heading towards Santa Ana and before it really came down, we stopped at a small gas station so 2 of the guys could put on their wet weather gear which bubba and I do not own. But I did change out of my desert boots to my black combat boots. We were doing about 55mph, probably 10 less than what the speed limit was. And ppl are so fucking impatient!! Not only were they trying to pass us but the one asshole who tried to pass, didn't see the pickup truck in the other lane and had to cut between our group. This was the first time I had to ride in the rain and I truly wanted to cry. I moved my foot just a little bit and I could tell that the inside of my boot was full of water. We found a Dairy Queen to stop and eat at and hope for the rain to stop. I waited till I got done eating before I took my boots and socks off and dumped the water out and rung my socks. Thankfully by the time we got back on the road, the rain cleared up.

So off we went and the first place to sight see before we got into Kerrville was the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area in Fredericksburg. OMFG!! You can see this monstrous rock area way before you even get to the park. And when you finally get there, it's even more WOWIES!! You have to pay before you go any farther into the park. I think it was $6 a person. Once we parked, Bubba and I started towards one of the many trails while the older dudes stayed behind. I told bubba I wanted to walk to the very top. It didn't look that far but IT WAS!! And dummy us, forgot we had bottled water in the cooler on my bike so we were hurting pretty bad by the time we walked back down. It would've been a better hike IF I had dry socks and dry boots. Cause of things being wet caused my feet to hurt and small blisters on some of my toes. But once we got to the top, it was breathtaking; the view and it was so quiet aside from the wind blowing. The next day, my outer thighs were killing me.

Here are some links I found in regards to the park:

After we left there, we headed to Kerrville where we were staying. The older guys went to check into their rooms and we headed out to the camping area where we were setting our tent up at (you'll see it in the pics). After we set up, had dinner with the guys, and went back to call it a night, never had sleep felt soooo good even if we did have a shitty air mattress that had a hole in it. Thankfully we got a new one the next day. The campsite we were at had OODLES of deer and in the one pic, there were a bunch gathered around cause the old man who was camping not far from us was feeding them deer corn. I think it was Sat morning as I was walking to the bathrooms, there were 3 deer laying under the trees by the bathrooms. And then later, I saw two young bucks that I tried to take pics of but since I couldn't get close enough to them and zooming in on the camera didn't work very well, the pics didn't turn out so good. But it was really neat to see all those deer so close. Hell, I was waiting to wake up in the morning and have a deer standing in front of the tent (which never happened).

Fri. morning after breakfast, we went on our day long bike trip out in the middle of nowhere. Too many small towns that I don't know of their names. But the area that we rode through before we got to Leakey was fucking awesome!!! The tight turns were pretty neat, in fact, the area we were riding reminded me of the car commercials that has a car riding next to a side of a mountain and the other side is a veeeeeeeeeeeeery long drop. I would hate to have a wreck there or even drive on it in wintry weather. Heading into Leakey, I guess the road crew sprayed water on the road that's been worked on and talk about a MESS!! A VERY MUDDY MESS!!! Talk about dangerous too. I'd rather ride through dust than that muddy shit. And to this day, it's still stained on the wall of my tires and under the bike. Almost as bad as East Texas red clay. All in all the ride was nice.

On the way home that Sat. is when we did a quick stop at Luckenbach. That area is VERY tiny. The pics that are posted of it, is pretty much it. But there were a SHIT load of bikers coming and going and right when we went to leave, a corvette group from Louisiana showed up and hogged the fucking road to where WE had to move around THEM which is bullshit. Something I also noticed too since there were a few females riding their own bikes is that they sit up so fucking straight as if they have a stick attached to their back, not relaxed at all. That would really bother me if I had to ride like they do.

Here are the pics from Kerrville and Luckenbach

It was a really nice trip aside from the rain and really strong winds all weekend. And I wish that Enchanted Rock and the area we rode out in the country was alot closer to us cause it was really so pretty but a very long trip down there. Total mileage round trip was 917 miles.
