So yesterday I decided to take up that offer of using the place where they allow us employees to stay at when the weather is bad. Before I talked to my main boss, I thought that we had to pay for the room out of our money and the company remburses us for that. BUT I was wrong, the company already has an account at the place to stay at so all I had to do was tell them I needed a room and where to bill it to.
This place was across the highway from work (all I had to do was go under the overpass and stay on the service road to get there) so that helped on getting there quicker. The place was called Wingate Inn *snickers at the name Wingate which in turn thinks of Hellsing* and it was the BEST place I ever stayed in. This was soooooooooooooo much more spacious and comfortable than the shitty hotels that hold the anime cons I go to here in TX. One thing that was weird, all the ppl I saw that worked there were non americans and of course their 2nd language is english *grumble grumble*. The dude at the front desk spelled my name wrong and most of the time I had to keep saying "what was that?" since he couldn't speak a lick of PLAIN FUCKING ENGLISH! I guess he was scared to ask me how to spell my first name in case he thought I would think him stupid. Gee how DO you spell Becky?????!!!!!!!! It sure as hell it Baky. I looked at the paper and said screw it, I just wanted to get something to eat and go to sleep.
They had a bunch of free stuff while staying there. They had a little free breakfast bar buffet, had an enclosed pool and whirlpool, and free internet DSL connection in the rooms. Even though I got a room with one bed (which was king sized) this room was huge! I wonder if it would still be the same size if it had 2 beds. Nice size closet and bathroom, a little living area (so to speak) with a nice comfy chair, a table with a chair AND you still had room to walk around!!!! The part where the bed was at had a night stand, dresser drawers with the tv on top of that which didn't take up much room AND still had room to walk around!!!!!!! I wanted to cry, seriously. The hotels that hold anime cons in the area don't even offer that much space and the damn tv stand they have in the rooms take up half the space. OOOOOOOOOHHH! Another addition that made me want to cry was they had a little fridge and a microwave!!!!!!!!!! *faints* Something how I wish hotel rooms would offer.
The thing that sucked about being stuck in an area where you can't go out on the roads cause of the weather, was that I was soooooooooooooo bored! I woke up around 3 to watch Toonami but I kept dozing off. I wanted to watch the Dallas Stars hockey game but kept dozing off during that too *sniffles* I stayed in bed alllllllllllll damn day!!!! I so wished I had a laptop, they had the little connector thing on the table where you could hook up your compy to and knowing it was free *sniffles* something else that most hotels don't even offer (I think the free word scares them) I wouldn't have been quite as bored if I had a laptop with me, I could've watched anime, checked my email, and work on some fics that really need completed *sighs*
Tonight was payday and also this is when we are rewarded our bonuses and raise that shows up on this pay (the bonus is seperate). I don't mind saying what my bonus was. My bonus was $2,000 and I'm looking at what I made after taxes and was appalled at what they took out!!!!!! Fed tax took out over $500!!!! And I just noticed that I have two different FICA taxes on my form *scratches head in thought* Hell Fed's only take out a little over $100 when it comes to my reg pay and also what the company takes out for their life insurance on us. But damn!! I thought I would've made a little more from my bonus than what I got back after taxes!!!!!!!! *greedy bastards*
Now here's to hoping that it doesn't take me 3 hrs to get home this morning since I'm going to brave the roads. It didn't help us out last night with it drizzling ontop of the freezing over shit!!!!!
