O__O is how I felt yesterday when I shocked myself on how well I did on going without sleep or feeling overly tired since I stayed awake so Rose and I could hit the Goodwill stores. I did good considering that when I go without sleep for so long, I end up cranky. The only setback was that later in the evening, I couldn't keep my eyes open no matter how hard I tried when Rose showed me some Fruits Basket on dvd. At least we managed all of Wolf's Rain beforehand. But I can make up for what I missed of FB by watching them all again when I head back to Rose's after work.
Speaking of work, it feels weird working for a few hours on the weekend but the overtime is worth it and thank god I only have to do it once a month.
As for sleep, when I did finally lay down, it felt like I had a good sleep but then I must've been getting paranoid that I would sleep through my alarm and be late for work so I kept waking up every hour or so *sigh* That just means that later tonight when I go home, I know I'll be sleeping in come Mon morning.
Now I see why I don't like eating at Mc D's anymore. Had a breakfast sandwich at work and now my belly doesn't agree with it. Then it made me think how I use to love eating there when I was younger >_<. *shudders* Which brings to mind the disgusting cheeseburger I had when I took Holly and the gang to the bus station in downtown Dallas the weekend Afest was over. I'm making myself ill now so ONTO the GOOD news!!!!
I guess it pays to complain ahead of time when it comes to hoping on finding the right outfit at a Goodwill store when it comes to costumes. The first place Rose and I went to, low and behold, the gods were smiling on us at our good fortune. First we found a long red coat that could've been used for an Alucard costume but then Rose found something else completely off the wall. It was a black leather coat that had the shoulder flap pieces like what is on Alucard's jacket (I'm using Solid Etc's art pics for examples)

Now some ppl may say "a black coat? Alucard wears red." Well I know that, but I have seen a few cosplayers go as the Black Alucard, which in turn is the manga Alucard. (no different than seeing Vash in a black costume instead of red) Plus if you notice how the waist part of Alucard's coat tappers inward before flaring out again, the black jacket we found was close to it, it even has a cute flare style near the bottom as well. Except that this jacket is a bit short so pieces of extra black material is going to have to be sewn to make it longer. Plus the other disadvantage is having a big chest, these puppies are going to have to be tapped down in order for it to feel comfortable on me *sigh and curses genetics* I just hope I can breath right when it comes to wearing it all weekend for Akon. We are hoping that certain Goodwill shops are open today and we can look for the black vest/blazer that goes on top of the white shirt. Then all that needs left to complete the costume is:
- must find a place that sells fangs I can attach to my teeth or the toofers ^_~ that the fangs will go on separately
- yellow shades
- red contacts (hopefully I don't have to go to an eye doctor to get them. I'm sure there are places like hot topic and such that sells those funky design contacts aka cat's eyes, swirlies, etc.)
- white gloves w/ the symbol on the back
- FIND a way to make the damn hat!!!
- black boots (that way it won't be money wasted, I can use them also for my Ran and Colonel Une costumes) that are comfortable.
- short black wig
- red material to make the tie
- look around the house for white button front dress shirt (reminder to look in hubby's closet)
- last but not least, find a way to borrow or make Alucard's guns.
Needless to say we were quite happy to find what we did on the first try. We also found a red jacket that I'm hoping will fit on Ali so he can go as Zechs.
After checking out the Goodwill shops, I must push bubba into checking the one out in Tyler to get some clothes at. I saw some nice stuff that I either wish I could wear or hope it would look nice on me. *sigh* I hate shopping for clothes and I hate clothes that don't agree with me.
