Books, books, and more books

The other day I finally got another big box from mom again that had more books for me. The joys of her working in a book distro warehouse is getting hardback books for really cheap. She sent me some more Stephen King books that either I already have on paperback (that I told her I would like hardback since paperback wears quicker) or books that I don't have yet. Plus she also threw in a Garfield Anniversary book I have yet to flip through, a Grateful Dead bio book (which I didn't ask for but mom must've remembered that I'm a Deadhead), a Firefighter calendar for bubba, and an AWESOME X-Men 2 movie book. Its got pics of the sets, the drawing of the characters, pics of the actors (drools over a lonesome Wolverine in his X leather outfit), and just a kickass book, pretty thick too. The last box she sent me had the LOTR 2 movie book which was pretty cool. Now I'm really getting more anxious to get our house sold and find the one we want to move into cause I'm excited about getting a bookcase for all these books I'm stashing away in my boxes. Now I'm waiting for her to send me the new HP book even though I haven't started the other ones yet and lord knows when I will but it nice to have on hand.

So........... to anyone out there who are Stephen King fans or just want something in their collection to read, I'm looking to get rid of my paperbacks that I already have on hardback now. All you would have to do is pay for shipping, thats it.

Just a few examples that I can think of off the top of my head that I have up for grabs are::

Rosemadder (EXCELLENT book!!! I couldn't put it down)

Cujo

The Eyes of the Dragon (another good book hard to put down)

Skeleton Crew

I'll have to search in my packed boxes to see what all I do have right now in order to make my list. I also have a feeling that I'll be putting up my Gunslinger/Dark Tower series up for grabs too once he re-releases them.

Anyone interested can either leave a comment here with an email address or email me which can be found in my profile. If you are wondering what a book is about, just ask.

Now I have to remind myself to download AIM AGAIN for work since the morons must've reformatted the other comp that I use AIM on when they had one of the printers mess up. *sigh* I'm getting tired of re-installing it!!! For those who haven't seen me online for the past few days, now you know.

can you remind me what Skeleton Crew is about?

(I think I've read part of it when I borrowed it from the library, but I'm not sure)

Skeleton Crew is a book of 22 short stories (very thick book). The one that sticks in my mind the most since I'm looking at the titles is called The Mist. It was about this weird fog that came through a town one day that somehow destroyed everything in its path, like it was eating away at things it touched (for instance, if you were to go out by the road, half of the road would be gone where the fog was just at) and somehow its got this funky creature inside of it that in my head, looks like an octopus. The main guy is stuck inside a grocery store and somehow has to find a way out or wonder just what the hell this fog is.

Another story that I liked was called The Raft. A bunch of teens go out on this lake where there is a makeshift raft that you could lay out on or jump off into the water. Little did they know that something was in the water that would kill each one off and it knew if you tried to escape the raft, it would come after you. Pretty creepy when I think back on it.

Since I'm at home now, I also have The Stand up for grabs and Gerald's Game.
