In desperate need of HELP!

I know there are tons of websites out there for this but I want ppl's opinions as to what is better or just links themselves as to where to go for decent airline prices. My super. was a nice guy and let me have that Mon, the 22nd off in Dec so I can make it a full week that I can go home for X-mas and I need to look for flights now while I can perhaps get a decent price. Any recs also when its cheaper to fly? (early morn, certain days, etc) It's going to be weird to fly again, I haven't flown since X-mas '99 O___O.

Any help is HIGHLY appreciated.

I haven't flown since 2002 (pre-9/11) I think. Someone was telling me about a website that gives you good deals ... it wasn't priceline but something similiar. I'll have to ask around ... I think it was someone at work who told me they got a great deal recently.

Sad to say that these days, with the airlines in such shitty shape it's a crapshoot... I had to pay well over $400 each to fly to SoCal for my trip in July... and I couldn't find an airfare lower than $500 to fly to Dallas for AFest (that's one reason I can't go *cries*) - now they're well over $700... I suggest trying Priceline.com or hottickets.com and see what you can come up with that way... flying is getting to be a luxury these days... *sigh*

So far so good, I found a GREAT cheap price. I went to orbitz the other night and they give you the cheapest one first and then the rest of the list. Delta wanted $269 and I think that was with either one or two stops. BUT AA wanted $289 and that was NON STOP (and of course roundtrip). Now I have to call mom to get her card # and work on reserving this tix since she said she is paying for my flight home. I'll be flying from Dallas to Baltimore since its the closest airport near home.

You're lucky... I don't have the luxury of flying out of a major airport without having to drive to Minneapolis, and even then it's not a savings after having to put my car in the park n fly... those are really good prices...
