Josh- keyboards (even though he's not mentioned)

First let me start off with the

Course I didn't get out of bed till around 3:15 that Fri afternoon. Plus I'm glad I woke myself when I did since bubba fell asleep on the living room floor. He didn't want us rushing to get there so early and then trying to find ways to kill time. Didn't leave the house till after 4 and the only traffic we ran into was when we neared the main part of Dallas. I thought that traffic would be worse on the other side of the highway cause of rush hour but it seemed that our side of the highway was a bit worse. Then of course like it usually goes for us when it comes to finding our way into Deep Ellum, we take the wrong exit (no comment on how that happened, I wasn't the one driving), and drive around downtown till we find the signs again that point to DE. Next was trying to find where Trees was located, found a parking spot down the street and went to look for a place to eat. I forgot about what area the one bar we normally eat at when we go the concerts in DE and ended up eating at some eh... I guess it was an italian place. All I can say is that the food was too damn expensive and they didn't have much to choose from on the menu.

We finally leave there and go stand in line at the club around 6:45 (doors opened at 8) and the line wasn't overly long, just stretched out and around the one fence that takes you to the side parking lot and the side of the club. So while we wait, the tour buses are right there on the street in front of the club and you could hear this guy keep shouting every 5 mins or so "Peter!" hehehehe silly bubba thought the dude was yelling out more beer but still found it odd for a guy to be yelling out Petah's name. So its getting closer to 8 and the line has stretched waaaaaaaaaaaay far behind into a back parking lot and the one guy who works at the club was walking by the line telling us to head towards the back part of the club cause that is where they are letting ppl in at INSTEAD of the FRONT of the club where half the ppl who have been waiting there say, since 3-4pm. They are the ones that got SHAFTED big time. So I was looking at bubba going "WTF?" and instead of asking more questions, we boogied over to where we were supposed to be and we still weren't too far in line, I just pity those that were still in the far back waiting. Then while waiting for the line to move since they were letting us in, we kept wondering if the club was big enough to hold everyone considering how HUGE the line was. I never been in Trees before so I don't know how much it could actually hold.

Once we got in, I told bubba to find a good spot on the 2nd level while I went and got myself a t-shirt (always a requirement at shows ^__^) I found where he was standing and he didn't realize it till later that he should've stood closer by the stage instead of the corner part of the railing. Oh well, at least we still had a nice view.

Now I bring you

First off Lacuna Coil sucked!! Why in the hell couldn't the line up grace us with Powerman 5k or better yet Spineshank like they did when they toured the World Coming Down tour. I was about ready to sit on the floor till the opening act was done but didn't feel like it so I was watching the crowd instead. They were more entertaining to me.

Once LC was done and they were setting up for TON, it made me realize just how small that stage was. The drums were so far back, even where we were standing, I could barely see it. And to make matters worse, with ppl smoking, the morons had a damn smoke machine on stage and that made it 10x's worse than what it already was. Plus it was FUCKING HOT AS HELL in that club. Where the HELL is the ventilation in these places????? I'm surprised more ppl didn't faint.

Then the lights went down and you know it was building up for TON to come out and I was getting anxious each second. When they first started to play, I looked over at bubba and told him its been too looooooooooooooong since I heard them live (its been two yrs since they came to Dallas) and it was just like ear candy to my ears. *sigh* The more I see them live, the more I just love them to death (no pun intended hehehehehe).

During their breaks (they took two), they took their time but I think the first time around it was to also get the equipment straightened out. Bubba took pics with the dig. camera as well as taking those 60sec clips that the camera can take too (just too bad there isn't sound). The pics turned out pretty decent which shocked me and the live clips were so cool to watch.

It was either after the 1st or 2nd time from their break that they were waiting for Johnny to get back on stage. We were laughing, yelling out "slacker" and "any day now Johnny". Well Peter picked up on it and just stood off to the side, being calm going "no rush, we're just waiting on you." It was great, I love it when they get silly in a smartass kind of way. But for how far back they had the drums, I could barely see Johnny play and I love watching drummers.

The cover tune they did was Dear Prudence by the Beatles which sounded great. Of course they mix the cover tune in with one of their songs so they didn't play all of Dear Prudence but it was enough for me to pick up on it. As much as I first complained about how short their set list was, they make up for it by playing their longer songs. The sound still sucked on Kenny's end cause for some reason, they never seemed to have fixed his microphone but he did what he could to make it sound good.

When they did Black #1, the part where the crowd really belts it out and sings the "loving you", not only was I blown away at the crowds participation but I think Peter was impressed too (even made a comment about us as well) I mean we were LOUD, loud enough to almost drown out Peter's singing. I think I had tears in my eyes. THEN during that set, bubba motioned over to where Kenny was standing and here Dimebag Darell (from Pantera) came on stage and sang with Kenny. I know there were at least two other ppl on stage that came from other bands but I don't know who. It was just awesome to see that (which I had a feeling that SOMEONE from the Dallas area known bands would come up). Bubba got some great pics of that too.

The crowd went fucking NUTS when they played "Kill all the white ppl". All the moshing that went on near the front of the stage was crazy. But it was fun watching how the crowd was behaving but there were times when they were being just a bit too out of hand and twice a fight nearly broke out cause of it.

When TON sang Anesthesia, the part where Peter sings "I don't need love" man oh MAN, talk about an emotional lyric, you could tell he was feeling it when he sang it. Blew me away.

Regarding songs from Life is Killing Me, I wished they would've played "I like Goils, IYDKMIGTHTKY (Gimme That), and Angry Inch". Those would've ROCKED HARD CORE live but sadly they didn't.

I didn't want the show to end cause of knowing that I'd have to wait another 2 yrs or so till they or IF they go back on tour again. I know they got families back home and stuff but it would be nice if they could finish their first leg of the tour, take a break, and go do it again just one more time for this album.

So when they ended the show, Peter was still onstage and told us how long they've been together (14 yrs), how we fans make them for what they are cause if it wasn't for us, they wouldn't be nothing. He praised us and thanked us, BUT we expressed our feelings to them just the same on being appreciative for what they do for us.

I wanted to wait around to see if I could finally meet one of them for a change but I was tired, my feet hurt, I was hot, sticky and sweaty and just wanted to go home. I told bubba that next time (hoping that there will be a next time), I will wait around for sure.

So thats my short story turned long ^___^

Had a wonderful time and would love to thanx the guys for making it a wonderful night. It surely made up for the sucky time at Afest.

Now, I finally got a link for the pics of the show that bubba took. I also included pics of the crowd too. So enjoy the pics!!!

NEWS BREAK

For those who didn't know, come SEPTEMBER 19th, Type O Negative will be shot for an upcoming episode of Headbangers Ball on MTV2.

Lacuna Coil is, in my opinion, severely over-rated. Many find Christina Scabies to be attractive, but I'm not impressed. There are many other bands with the male/female dual harmonies that are way better than them.

Anyways, to the show!

I'm glad it was awesome, though I didn't expect less ( thanks for sharing the pictures btw!). Since October Rust they have always mentioned putting an end to their career, but I don't think they can. They are too talented, Pete has too much too say and express, and this show amongst many proves that their music still resonates on many levels with so many people. It seems he appreciates the exchange of admiration very sincerely.

I can't stand the little girlies who whine because he's not as "hot" as he used to be.
I'll always have a lame school-girl crush on him lol. With his age and stressful circumstances, he still looks good ^_^

Once again, so lucky you are to have seen them live (several times?)

PS: There's a post in the TON community talking about how "pop-punk" LIKM is. Pfffft...I'm staying out of that one!

Take care~
