First off I was quite pleased with the goodies that came in the boxset. The t-shirt was nothing that I thought it was going to be cause I was expecting to see something as cheap as the FMP shirt, boy was I wrong. Its a pretty high quality black XL shirt with the WHR logo on the front and the pic of the characters on the back (not a small pic either, a NICE SIZE FULL pic), a shotglass, the OST, and two small clear cells that has Robin on them (that are in the dvd case, just to those who do buy it and wonder where the cells are). Like most dvd covers now, these are reversable to which I switched mine over to the Robin cover. Bandai doesn't hold back when it comes to making the fans happy.
2ndly, the dvd itself, I was pretty anxious to hear the dub voices. Believe me when I say I was blown away at just the first eps!!! And thats pretty rare to say about any dub first hand. The actors seemed pretty comfortable with their roles and didn't sound so stiff. The only thing I will nit pick about is how they say Amon's name. They pronounce it as two words, Ah Mon. I always thought it was one word, you say it as it looks. Who knows, I'm just going by how the japanese say it and I would think that is how you would say it too. I'm very impressed with the dub. You know how some dubs are like *cringecringe* during the first eps, hoping that the rest of the disc gets better or better yet, hoping that the next few dvds are much better than the first? (won't mention any series cause we are ALL ENTITLED TO OUR OWN OPINIONS!!! Keep that in mind!)
Now onto the voices::
Amon: Its going to take awhile for me to get use to hearing his voice cause all I keep picturing is Alucard from Hellsing (same dude). But Crispin seems to get Amon's moodyness down right.
Robin: I was so thrilled to hear her voice. I was expecting the mousy type ala Tessa from FMP ><;;;. Robin may be a quiet soft spoken girl but she PROJECTS her voice. And I was wondering who her VA was, here it was the girl from FLCL who voiced Haruhara Haruko.
Miho: Is done by Wendee Lee which I would always hear her name but could never figure out who she was. She did Faye Valentine's voice from Bebop and Suzuka from Outlaw Star. Wendee does her character very well.
Haruto Sasaki: is done by none other than VASH!!!!! Johnny is really great, he's got Haruto's character down the way I would always pic his dub voice to be.
Doujima: None other than Kiki from Gundam 08th MS Team. Perfect for the role.
And when I kept hearing Michael talk, I was like "man, I know this voice but who is he???" His VA was the new Speed Racer that they use to show on Nickelodeon. I think he does Mike's voice really good, not geeky or anything, just fits the character the way he should be. (and its funny to know his jap VA is Omi from WK).
Harry: the dude that runs the restaurant and the rest of the dudes that work for STNJ is nothing short of disappointing, they all sound wonderful.
I don't think I EVER gushed this much over a dub anime before and this was just on the 1st eps!!! I stopped it after watching eps. 3 and will watch the last two later today or tonight. But then again, I fell in love with WHR when I first watched it when
wardove sent me the series for my compy last yr, so much so that I watched it like 3 times in a row O__O. Obssesed? Me? Nah ^_~
I really encourage those out there that might be interested in WHR or getting it just to be different, do so!!! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I'm so anxious to see eps. 15 when Amon helps Robin escape *sniffles* such a great scene between those two, love them to death(tis where my icon came from that eps. *squeeeeee!!!!*)

I was just telling someone how it seemed like Crispin Freeman had disappeared off the face of the anime world. But then I remember he just doesn't attend Cons, but still does voice work.
I really think he got scared away by reeeeeaaaaaally creepy fan-girls.
And I think Kirby Marrow is gonna follow the same path, if you get my drift.

That doesn't surprise me. Though it would be a waste to not go to cons after getting someone to make him that Alucard costume.

Oh yeah, without a doubt. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't do cons anymore. But since he was moving to LA, he might rather be focused on the hollywood scene than the anime.
Check this comment out by Skank Ho's friend Jess as to her gripe about Kirby::
But you're right, some of them do get "letting-guest-status-go-to-their-head" syndrome, and I have met a few VAs (I won't mention any names...coughKcoughIcoughRcoughBcough...Y..hack) who are afflicted it most of the time. Oh well, I guess it take all kinds to make the world go round, so I won't complain much.
Whatever bitch, she's probably pissed cause Kirby wouldn't pay attention to Skank and herself. I don't blame the guy, hell I never had any problems with him.

=O Pheh... it really does figure that stupid skanks have to come up with bitchy excuses as to why VA's don't give them second glances.
Kirby seemed perfectly nice when I bumped into him AF 2002. He has good manners with con-goers.
So I really think it's mostly to do with creepy stalkers.
That, and I can imagine that people like Crispin and Kirby DO want to get more into the movie scene. I mean, heck, even Scott McNeil is in movie and TV occassionally. I'm sure every VA wants to be seen in addition to heard.
I think it really does take a special type of person to be content with just being a VA and never having done any additional acting.

And thanks for the run-down on who everyone else was. I was wondering.
