The fire dept that bubba was in when we lived in Chandler had their X-mas party. Man my ass was dragging all day yesterday since I had to work OT, bubba came to pick me up, got breakfast and did some shopping at Sam's Club till 1pm. Went home, loaded the truck and got ready to go to his sister's before going to the party later. Needless to say, I was strapped for sleep even though I dozed on the way and at his sister's and the way home.
Bubba was contemplating on if the dept was going to give him something for the time that he served there, maybe like a paper certificate or what have you. After the dinner is when they do the awards and such. Once it was time for the main issuing of the person of the yr, it came to shock that Bubba was the candidate. I could tell bubba was overwhelmed as well as some of the other guys. The one dude's face was so red, I was waiting for his head to explode from emotion. Bubba got a really nice plaque for Firefighter of the Year. Thinking about everything that he's done for the dept. for the 2 yrs we lived there, he deserved it. Plus they said that when it came to voting, it was pretty much unanimous except for two ppl that didn't vote for him.
All in all it was a good night except for being so damn sleepy.

I like your man, and I believe he is probably a very dedicated firefighter. Good for him!

Well the one person who didn't vote, voted for themselves and the other voted for someone else.

I can imagine he is too with the stories he tells me when he comes back from a fire call or a medical call. He seems to put alot of effort into it unlike some of the ppl.
The dept he joined where we live now, are both paid and vol. and they don't cover much of the medical calls, mostly fire and accidents. So cause of that, it has been quiet from time to time compared to where we use to live.
