The joys of having long distance service on our reg. phone for free, I get to talk as long as I want to whomever back home. I called my older sis on Sun. to check and see what recent cds she bought so I know what not to get her. I had to laugh when we were thinking along the same lines of................Outkast! tehehehehehehehe I liked her intro to what she was going to say::
Sis: You may think I'm crazy but this other cd I bought......
Me: Let me guess. Would it be Outkast?
Sis: *laughs* How did you know?
Me: I had a feeling for some reason it would've suckered you in like it did me.
She also bought Limp Bizkit's new one and its sad to see that its not as good as Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water. I'm glad though that getting her the Spineshank cd will surprise her cause I'm sure she forgot about checking up on that band.
Then she told me about how awful its been lately around the household cause of everyone being sick. Course ever since Ethan started kindergarten is when all hell broke loose with the sicklies. The littlest one, Dylan, was trying to get over his cold when I was talking to her. I told her if that shit keeps up, I'm going to be wearing a respirator mask while I'm around. The last thing I need is to be sick when I'm home or when I come back. I'm not kidding, I'm highly serious about doing this if it comes down to it.
She then asked me if she told me about her cat the last time she talked to me. Since she didn't, she went on to explain what happened. Her cat was about 7 yrs old and what she told me blew me away. Said the cat started to act really strange (she was a housecat) by meowing weird, her coat felt dull and greasy, and she wouldn't eat. Sis knew that something had to have been wrong with the cat and told her hubby to put the cat out of its misery, which of course he didn't. A couple days later, the cat would do weird things that she would never do before like jumping on the table to lay on the sunny spot on the table mat and even jumped back up after my sis scolded her. Sis tried to get her to eat, even with some moist food (which she would never touch) and the cat got as far as licking the gravy. The whole situation started to creep my sis out and she had a feeling something was up when she saw some sort of yellowish whitish flem or puke on the side of the basement wall. I think the cat also peed on the kitchen floor, which she never did before either. Sis didn't know what to do anymore so she left to take the kid to school, run some errands, and when she came back she went to check on the cat in the basement (where the cat stuff was). She saw the cat laying on the piece of carpet she had for her and called out. The cat didn't move so she nudged her and found the cat must've died that day. I asked her if she got Brian to take the carcass out but he was at work so she didn't want it laying there for too long. In order to collect herself, she had to go outside to smoke and cry, which I don't blame her cause I know I'd be in worse condition if and when my kitty dies.
I asked her why she didn't take the cat to the vet if she knew something might have been wrong but I agree with holiday coming up and the vet being expensive, there was nothing they could do. She talked to a friend of hers about what happened and the girl told her she went through the same thing. They think the cat had kidney failure. Brian's dog had the same problem and that time, they did take him to a vet and just for that little blood work it was $75 and thats how they found out what the dog had. Brian, of course since it was his dog, put it out of its misery, as much as it hurt him to do it.
I've heard thats one of the main killers in animal's lately and its scary. Makes you wanna make sure that your own pet is up to date with their check ups. Hell, even Robin from the Howard Stern show said that her cat just died of the same thing, even though her cat was 16 yrs old.
Aside from all of that, throughout the whole phone call, she kept saying how excited she is that I'm coming home. Granted she's normally happy when we or I come home for vacation but I think since its the holiday, she's more happy about me coming to visit. Plus she and her family are coming to pick me up at the airport on Sat. so I'm might as well prepare myself on being tackled once she sees me. I haven't seen my family since last Sept. so its about overdue for our visit anyways.
Now to finally get their ass to come to Texas and all will be well.
