*passes out in love*

God, if it were possible, I would've plastered my face to the tv screen when the preview came on *pantpantpant* But since we were at a friend's house, I couldn't.

UGH! Hugh Jackman *pantpantpant* God damn could that man be any hotter??!!!!

Ever since seeing the promo pic and the ad for it April of last yr, I've been DYING for May '04 to get here and I don't think it could get here fast enough.

This is one movie I totally want to see the early first showing for. Yeah baby!!! I think its going to be killer, the dude that made The Mummy is the guy in charge of this.

I want to see more previews of it, it flashed by so fast, I wasn't able to take everything in.

*pantpant*

I had to mop up the drool when I first saw the trailer up for download. If you have quicktime, it's up at - http://www.apple.com/trailers/

And with my current Faramir-induced LotR kick, not only do I get to squee over Hugh Jackman, I get to squee over David Wenham. I want it out /now/! *whine*

This movie is going to kick ass!

Hugh Jackman is one of the hottest men out there. You just look at him and go... DAMN he's fine! So that's one big reason I'm excited about the movie. Strangely even if he wasn't in the it I would still go see it. I'm a huge Castlevania fangirl, and I suspect this will be the closest I'll ever get to a CV movie. I love vampire hunter stories.

I agree too even if he wasn't in it, it still sounds and looks badass. I heard a little bit about Castlevania, its a console game right? If so, what is it like?

Re: If you feel like kicking supernatural ass...

Castlevania is a great series to play. There have been Castlevania games on systems like the first Nintendo all the way up to the PS2. Most of the games were 2D action games. In the majority of the games you're playing as a member of the vampire hunting Belmont family. Their weapon of choice for fighting monsters is the Vampire Killer whip (*LOL* Konami really strained their brains naming that weapon). You can also use subweapons like holy water, crosses, axes, and daggers. Usually the final boss of the game is Dracula (this guy just doesn't know how to die). You fight all types of monsters in these games like skeletons, zombies, ghost, mermen (that look like the creature from the black lagoon), Frankenstein, Wolfmen, medusa... the list goes on and on. It's like a horror movie and Mythological creature reunion. And the setting of the games is a... castle. It just gets better and better doesn't it? *lol*

I know you have a PS2 so I recommend getting Castlevania Symphony of the Night for the PSX. This game is different from the previous games in the series because it has a lot of RPG elements like leveling up and being able to equip various weapons, armors, etc. Also the main character in this game isn't a Belmont, but Dracula's son Alucard. He's a dhampire (just like D) and because of his heritage you can use all sorts of magic and relics. Heh, (Un)fortunatley, he's not a crazy guy like Alucard from Hellsing. This game is HUGE and really fun to play. The music is excellent and the graphics are nice for a 2D game.

If you have a Gameboy Advance I highly recommend all three of the 2D Castlevania titles on that system, especially Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.

The newest Castlevania: Lament of Innoscecne is the 3rd attempt in making a 3D Castlevania and I think that it was a successful transition. This game is a prequel and explains the origins of the Belmont family and their beef with Dracula. The main character Leon Belmont uses a whip and magic (thanks to some help from the neighborhood alchemist) to fight enemies. The graphics are beautiful and the music is great also. Unfortunately the layout of the Castle can become repetitive at times (sooo many hallways!). The controls are easy to get used to. Also the price of this game has dropped from $50 to $30.

A helpful site is the Castlevania Dungeon http://www.classicgaming.com/castlevania/dungeon.htm

This is one of the most comprehensive videogame fansites I have ever seen. They have detailed descriptions of all the games, artwork scans, music, and a whole lot of other stuff.
