I was wondering what scarbie meant by how she couldn't see my Gungrave screencaps I had uploaded to webshots. I got a notification in my email that they deleted EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN pic I had uploaded. SOMEONE had to have turned me in, how else would they know what the fuck it was that I had made????

The email I got is this::

We recently received notification that one or more of your images were uploaded in violation of U.S. copyright law, and, as required by law, we have deleted 83 image(s) from your Webshots photo albums. The Webshots Terms of Use prohibit you from uploading photos that you did not take or other images that you did not create unless you have the permission of the copyright holder. The Terms of Use also
prohibit you from uploading photos featuring individuals without the individuals' consent. This policy is designed to protect you from claims for copyright and/or publicity rights infringements that could result in monetary damages to you.

So what do they do? Check out every pic ppl upload and make sure what is right and what is wrong??!!!

GOD I'M SO FUCKING PISSED, I spent so much of my time to do this shit and now this!

Guess I will have to activate the photobucket account, unless they got a problem with me doing that too. I don't see other pic sites pissing and moaning about those that make screencap sites with their program.

I'm speechless. Why would someone want to cause trouble? And it seems to me that is exactly what happened, as how would the host know they were a 'copyright' violation unless someone told them?

I've been contemplating that thought all day. Either some rat fink that checks out LJ's and saw my caps (either from my LJ or the community), would seem to have a problem with me and what I'm doing. If that is the case, they need some serious help. And no where have I ever said that I claim the rights to the series and such. This pisses me off everytime I think about it. I would say that perhaps Webshots happens to check what is uploaded to their site but when they are telling me that SOMEONE notified them, you can't help but think differently.

I'm glad to see that others think the same thing. Don't know why if that is the case. Someone must have a secret grudge against me either who is looking at my LJ or who checks out my community. I've done nothing to piss anyone off regarding the series. So what, as if its a crime to do something for the little fandom that is out there for this? I'm wondering if I contacted webshots, if they would tell me who ratted me out. I could understand it if *I* claimed the series was mine but I didn't.

Pending on how things go with photobucket, I might get around to reposting #19 again but maybe not as many as I did before, its too much work.

Ah, I had this before. I'm pretty sure they check whats uploaded to their servers cuz once I uploaded the anime wallpapers I made and it was less than a day before they were taken down.

I gave up with stuff like that after a while and just bought my own webspace. It saves you all the hassle and irritation of being at the mercy of these so called free hosts.

I'm sure the fault lies in webshots but just the way the email stated that someone notified them about my pics, makes me wonder if someone was low enough to rat me out over something as STOOPID as this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think within time once I get some webmaking skills under my belt, I will be looking into a host, I'm tired of the bullshit.

EXACTLY! Thats what pissed me off so much. Its not like I was claiming I owned the series. I don't know if this is webshots doing or if someone ratted me out. I haven't pissed anyone off in this little fandom or if this is the case of jealousy, then someone's got issues.

I've seen tons of sites that have screencaps of whatever and yet all of a sudden, I'm the bad guy??

I'm wondering if Webshots would let me know who brought it up since they were "notified". I mean hell, these caps were up for about what, a week or two? And they are just NOW getting on my case about it??

Pending on my mood later, I might upload some of 19 again on photobucket (the service I'm using now unless that flops later).

Oh and since I forgot in the last reply, when you get around to emailing me about the GG discs, put in the subject line about Gungrave or something similiar to that. That way I know who its coming from and not consider it spam.

Damn, that is a mess. I know that probably took quite a bit of time to upload all those screencaps. I sent you a email wondering if they did that very thing and that idea came from the back of my mind. I guess they actively police what goes on to their site. I rather that be the scenario than some on tattling on you.

Yeah, I think the part that took the most was typing certain text for the caps (which I didn't have to do but it would helpt explain things a bit better). I don't know, webshots is really wonky, especially after this happened. I too would rather have it be webshots being the one to take it down but if its the case that someone ratted me out, then someone's got some serious issues. It would be a different story if I claimed the rights to the series but I didn't. I also hope its the case that they police their site, cause they don't even allow you to write a swear word without it being #### where the text should be.

I uploaded all of 20 on Photobucket and I made sure to read their rules and no where does it state that I'm not allowed to put up screencaps. The onlyh thing that kinda sucks is that I can't write any text to go with the pic there's no space for it.

Pending on my mood and how things go with PB, I'll upload 19 again but probably not all of the caps this time, too much work.
