YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats right, just one more month till............
My 8 yr contract will be COMPLETE, OVER, FINI, TERMINATED, NO MORE, NIL, NADDA, with the US Army!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY HELL! Its hard to believe that its been that long. I only served 3 yrs out of that 8 yr contract we all have to sign in for.
But being inactive reserve, we've been on pins and needles when 9-11 happened and then with the recent war in Iraq. Bubba and I were expecting to either get a phone call, snail mail, or someone knocking on our door trying to take me away to serve as backup. And yes, there would be no way I could stand up and say "no you can't take me." cause by law, yes they can. As long as I'm still under contract, they can pull me in when they really need me (only short if they ever had to pull a draft).
So I will be counting down till April 9th and even though I may not have a blow out party that day for it, beware that I plan to celebrate like crazy the weekend of Akon since I will be around friends. ^_______^

I remember going through the same thing with my ex-husband when Desert Storm happened back in the early 90's (his inactive reserve was 4 years from 89 - 93)... he received some information from the Marine Corps telling him where he would have to go if needed... he even got a phone call from the Corps - I remember hearing his end of the conversation - "Are you ASKING me to go? If you're asking me, the answer is NO... don't call me until I HAVE to report to my station."... and he hung up the phone and shook his head... we still laugh about that one... calling him to voluntarily go back... heh

And do you know what sucks? I live in IN and C-Kon is just in South Bend. Granted, six hours away...

Yeah I'll no doubt see Rose at the con. I was the one who got her to go to cons in the first place. My first con was Akon '00, then I met Rose in '01 and that was when she tried it out. Rose and I don't live too far from each other so we can pretty much see each other w/out having to do the con scene.
I am pretty excited about Akon, and looking at the calendar, I can't believe that its a month and a half away!!!!!!!! O_________O
