So yeah, last Fri-Sun we went camping at Joe Pool Lake, a state park area in Grand Prairie. It wasn't too bad till later Fri night once everyone had their tents set up and had a fire going. I crashed around 10pm and died when I went to sleep. Halfway through the night, not sure what time it started, but we had a HELLACIOUS thunderstorm come in. Thank god we rented a camper cause if we were in our tent, I would've told hubby to pack up and go home. Bubba didn't get much sleep that night cause of worrying about the others out in their tents, his sis and her family being one of them. So around 3am, he saw her tail lights on with her car and called her up to see what their situation was and told them to come to the camper to sleep. The next morning, those that were in tents, were nearly flooded out. Not only that, we were w/out electricity till mid afternoon. *shakes head* And the other worse part was the area we all were in, was like a muddy swamp hole, seems like the worse area in the park >__<.

So we all headed to the Waffle House for breakfast and talked about what we were going to do since it was STILL raining!!!!! The two older ladies were thinking about heading home (they had a camper too) cause of #1. the weather and #2. if we couldn't get a better spot, then they were going to pack up and leave. After we ate, we checked out different spots in the park that weren't being used and found a nice area. We all decided that would be it and all packed up and moved. THIS TIME the area had grass and was on higher ground, it was lovely not having to walk in mud the entire time.

The whole weekend wouldn't have been so bad if the rain would've just STOPPED for one day. Sat. it was on and off and then teased us by having a clearing along the horizon which didn't last long. At least after dinner, we were sitting around the fire and enjoyed that before bed, which AGAIN, rained not too long after. Woke up Sun morning, still raining, but once everyone was done with their breakfast and before we all started to tear down camp, it FINALLY cleared up. Course along with that came the quick heat and humidity >__<. God I couldn't WAIT to get my ass home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spent a good part on Sunday cleaning out the camper, fucking dry mud on the floor even though during that whole time we had to use one of our towels as a damn rug. But at least we got things done in a decent time. Also didn't look forward to cleaning out the pool when we got home cause I knew with that storm that went through, that we'd have a bunch of crap to clean out of it. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but enough.

My WTF moment wasn't very pleasant when we got home. For starters, I was quite shocked to see both cats in one piece and that they didn't kill each other while we were gone.

So I'm walking through the kitchen and saw the digital clocks flashing. Had a feeling that with the rain we had, that the power went out at the house too. I go to my compy room to check my vcr since I had it set to tape Wolf's Rain and threw a FUCKING HISSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The power must've went out that Fri night so needless to say, my stuff couldn't record. So not only did I miss Gundam Seed and Wolf's Rain, I didn't KNOW that the new eps of Inuyasha was ALSO going to be on this past Sat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD! Could anything else have gone more wrong between the weather and now that!!????

Now I don't mind camping, but it sure as hell fucks up my system *groans* In some ways, thank god this is the last time we'll get to do this since bubba had to use up the rest of his vacation time. The only time we'll do things like this again is when his days off will fall on a weekend since I have my weekends off.

On an ending note, coming into work last night, I found out that my super will be out till next Tues!!! *dances a jig*

I was also productive last night that I capped Gungrave #25, now all I have to do is upload the pics when I get home in the morning.
