I went to check out the hotel the other day and let me just say....................WOW!!! I'm IMPRESSED!!! Just too bad they couldn't have held the past Akon's at the Mark Hotel before. Compared to the puny airport hotel, it can't even compare to the Mark. This place is HUGE that I was getting confused how to get to certain rooms cause you had to take another elevator once you got to a certain floor. The rooms are very very nice, between the reg rooms that we will have for the con, all the way up to the Jr. King rooms.

What really blew my mind was across the street where I was parked from the hotel, there was another building that seemed affiliated with the Mark. I do believe that building is where they hold conventions and such, separate from the hotel itself. They have a sky view that you can take the escalator to the 2nd floor in the hotel which I believe can also take you to the building across the street. I'm hoping that since this hotel has much more space than where it was held before, that it won't seem overly stifling (yeah right).

For my roomies, those that KNOW are coming, I will work on having a total for us on how much to owe for the room. Keep in mind it is subject to change since I have yet to hear back from one more person. *you know who you are! *glares* ^_~

Even though I have costumes and props to finish up, I'm totally psyched for AKon to get here!! *bouncebounce*

I can't wait!! 5 more weeks!! Let me know how much my portion will be (remember, my chibi will be accompanying me, and I'll be driving down as well - so if you have to register vehicles, add me if you can!)... *tries not to explode with excitement*

Oh, yeah... I'm bringing my laptop and plan on bringing my extra router down, so we can share in the wonder that is high speed (I believe that the hotel has high speed in the rooms *squee*) - just be sure to bring a cable so you can connect your computer to it!

I guess at some point I'll let you guys know what room Dan and I are in, or vice versa. I have no clue yet, as my dad made the reservation for us. I'll probably know more when I get to Houston, earlier that week, but we're staying Friday to Saturday. I'm sure it wont be too difficult to find each other at some point :)

Here is one way to know what room we'll be in. I have the room for that Thurs so I plan to check in at 3pm, unload my things, and then head back to the house to chill out and eat. IF you can get on the net at your parents place, I will make a LJ entry saying what my room # is. I mean the room is in my name but I don't think the hotel ppl will give out room #'s if you ask for so and so's name cause of privacy issues.

If your parents DON'T have the net, give me a phone # and I'll call you the day I check in.

Yes, I'll have the net at my parent's place, so you can lj it or email the info. I'm also meeting someone else in Dallas for either dinner Friday or lunch Saturday, someone from LOTR fandom who WONT be at the con, and by that point we should already have our schedule figured out as to when we're meeting her as well. I can also call you Thursday before WE leave, if you include a phone number, but I don't have a cel phone at the moment, so I should definitely make contact with you before we hit the road Friday morning. I'll zip you off my parent's number as well, in an email, as things get closer.

OK, keep in touch! :)
