Update for Akon regarding guests

I had a feeling this was going to happen. Scott McNeil can't make it, reason being::

"Scott McNeil is filming a live action movie (aka Scooby Doo sequel)that lost filming time due to bad weather, and has to catch up to make their film deadline, forcing him to actively film and be on set until 4am on Saturday morning. There is no way he can make it this year, and was extremely apologetic and disappointed. He waited until the very last minute he could to see if something could be arranged with the film company, but it could not."

It was too good to be true I think to have him able to make the con since he almost didn't make it to AN cause of his filming schedule. I was looking foward to seeing him again since he also couldn't make it to Ushicon in Jan but there is always hope that he can make it for AnimeFest in Sept. The only good side of this is that I was running out of things for him to sign but the sucky thing now is deciding who's table to sit at for the Sunday brunch.


Also another set of guests that can't make it to Akon:

Ricki Simmons and Tavisha Wolfgarth-Simmons, the husband and wife team. Ricki is the voice actor for GIR on Invader ZIM. I wanted to see what his personality is in person and see what the future holds for anymore ZIM eps releases. They were on my 2ndary list if Scott couldn't make it for the brunch.

If worse comes to worse, if no one else on the brunch list is worth sitting at, I might sit at Stephanie Nadolny's table since she's a really sweet lady. (in case ppl are wondering who she is, she does little Goku's voice on DB)

Run down on things

These last two days (tues and weds) has been hell on my sleep schedule. I wasn't overly tired Tues evening when I laid down for my nap before work and wasn't too tired the whole night. Wed really fucked me over since I stayed up till noon on getting my shit ready to pack for Akon. My car trunk is full with my bags and will end up making quite a few trips from the car to the hotel, plus I used one of my boxes that I brought home from work to store my food in too, came in pretty handy.

So with my messed up sleep time, I spent most of last night at work with my head planted firmly on the table, catching a few z's. The joy and wonders of working alone. I'd wake up, print a few jobs, and go back to sleep. Wasn't fully awake till after 3am.

wardove if your reading this, I forgot to tell you on chat before I left the house that my nephew's girlfriend and the baby were given the go and were allowed to come home from the hospital. Not sure what the results for the baby turned out to be but just glad that its passed for them.

My Alucard costume is soooo kickass!!! I love it so much. If it were me, I'd just wear that costume all weekend but I won't, I'll just wear it Sat and part of Sunday. Fri, I'll be wearing my Ran costume. The alteration lady did a excellent job with my Alucard coat and its leather too!! Its much more roomier in the arms and waist, La is a godsend! Plus I was pretty shocked on how cheap it was too for her to do what little work she did, it being leather and all. The pain in the ass was getting the hat complete. stella195 is also a godsend for getting a hold of red and yellow shades, both look good but I might go with the red. Its going to be weird though seeing everything in that color. I decided to go ahead and buy a long black wig which fits just right with my hat on. Since I couldn't dye my hair black and I didn't want to waste money on buying at least 4 cans of black hairspray since my hair is so damn long, this wig will come in very handy. Ooooooooooooh!!! Bubba is also on this list of being a godsend. As much as I kept bugging him about helping me with getting the symbols ironed on my gloves, they look pretty neat. If it weren't for his help, I would've been lost and probably messed them up. It scared me though cause I was afraid that the iron on transfer was going to be stuck to my glove cause bubba had a hard time peeling it off. It worked fine when we did a practice test on his old shirt. I'm going to be roasting my ASS OFF in this costume. I'll be wearing three layers of clothing: the white dress shirt, the vest/blazer (thank god Rose cut the sleeves off of it), and the heavy black jacket. I hope that stella195 and I are lucky to come across other Hellsing cosplayers. Stella will be Integra, I'll have a Master to order me around *purrr! ^__^* Since I don't have the guns or can even afford Alucard's guns, I'll be walking around drinking out of my "blood bag". I was going to try to get a hold of a real empty blood bag that I could fill with V8 but I had a feeling it would've tasted like the plastic. Stella gave me a great idea to use, but I won't tell you my secret till after the con.

The other pain in the ass with the costume are my fangs. I tried using the adhesive that came with them but it didn't hold so I had bubba get me a tube of denture cream. That shit is NASTY!!!! I was practicing with it yesterday and I can only hope that these damn things take hold and STAY on my teeth. I don't want to lose any fangs cause I can't close my mouth the whole way since my bottom teeth clash with my fangs *sigh*.

I can't wait to take pics and show peeps how my costume turned out. The only thing though, I HATE posing!!!! No matter what costume I'm in.

But at least AKon is finally here!!!
