To quote my mom: "The most scariest movie to this day, for me, will always be the Exorcist."

And no truer words have been spoken.

From what I can recall, the last time I seen the Exorcist was when I was pretty young. I don't remember seeing it since then. This weekend it was on one of the movie channels so I thought why not watch it.

Wow, that movie is pretty fucking creepy and funny considering the yr that movie was made, the vulgar language used in it made me laugh.

Ya know, for allll the horror movies out there, I think this is one of the better ones ever released. When I think back on all the Fri. 13th's, Freddy's, and any other kind of horror flicks new and old, just doesn't amount to what the Exorcist was. Also for the yr the movie was made, the thing that usually goes through my mind are cheesy B rated flicks but this one here is nowhere near it. And this movie fucks with your head cause they'll show quick images of a demon or really creepy things that you have to watch for carefully or you'll miss it.

The only thing that bothered me was they jumped around alot in scenes. They go from one thing to the next with no explanation behind it and I felt those parts that weren't shown would've or could've been important pieces. For ex. before she was possessed, she overheard her mom talking on the phone trying to reach her dad in regards to her bday and her mom throwing a fucking hissy cause her dead beat father couldn't be reached. The next thing you know, she's at the doc's office getting a check up and BAM! she's showing signs of possession. No reason behind WHY she was a target. I'm thinking maybe cause she dabbled with the Ouija board and had a imaginary person (not a friend, since it seemed like she never mentioned him before) named Capt. Howdy perhaps speaking in her ear. Could Capt. Howdy been the devil all this time but waited for the right time to take over her body or what? But when the psychiatrist hypnotized her and she brought up Howdy, she said it wasn't him that was in her. I don't know, the whole thing confuzzled me.

I'd rather play it safe so I got spoilers under the cut.

It's funny when mom brings it up about that movie cause I believe she said she saw it when it first came out and that was in '73 and she was 21. To her, the sickest part was the puking scene. What's also weird is that last Oct, they did a poll on the local radio station about what was the scariest horror movie and the Exorcist was the #1 choice. I think the Exorcist is 10x's better than The Omen.

And while I'm thinking about old horror movies, has anyone on my flist seen The Car? Now THAT was a movie I remember watching when I was really little and the last time I saw that movie till a couple yrs ago they were showing it on one of the channels during the month of Oct. Watching it now that I'm older, it is kinda creepy but very cheesy. Though the car and the noise it made was eerie. I can still remember how it ends.

Speaking of possessed cars, I always liked Christine too, thought that was a pretty creepy movie, especially the guy who played Arnie. There's a guy who makes you wonder what became of him. The last movie I recall him in was Back to School (w/ Rodney Dangerfield). He ranks up there with the kid that played Mitch in Real Genius. Whatever became of that nerd? Well after looking it up, check him out now compared to what he looked like in Real Genius (which isn't the best pic but its all I could find from the movie).

Had to work at B&BW Sunday night. Our job this time was moving EVERYTHING off the wall shelves (pretty much rearranging the areas). Talk about a pain in the ass!!!! The one girl told me they do this twice a yr. Two ppl didn't show up and believe me, not having those 2 ppl there really slowed us down since the majority of us were paired with an extra person. So of course, my partner never showed and just about all of us got stuck with 3 areas to work on. I was able to get two of my areas done and another group of ppl did my 3rd shelf since there was no way in hell I'd have it done before it was time for us to finish up. If I had to choose between floorsets, re-ticketing, or the shelves, I would totally pick the floorsets.
