This afternoon, the guy that bought the Mustang came over to pick the car up. So while his wife and I were trying to help get the car on his trailer, bubba came out (the loudness of the car woke him up) to help. He walked to the garage to get a box that had some Mustang parts in and said he had something to show me. I walked over and there curled on the cement near the closed garage door was a FUCKING SNAKE!!!!!!!!!! *squirms* The weird part of it is, it was dead. Freshly dead too cause earlier I went out there to take the trash out and there was nothing there. Bubba and the other dude looked it over and something must've been done to its head, perhaps the snake got hit by a car or something but yet the rest of its body looked fine. The snake was a Copperhead and when bubba picked it up to dispose of it, it had to be at least 3-4 ft long *squirms* I made sure to stay as far as I could cause I know bubba likes to mess with me by trying to chase me with it. (same with insects, etc)

Just typing this gives me the heebee jeebees.

One reason why I don't know if I'd want to live in Texas... my Grandmother told me stories of how they'd find rattlers in their dresser and in berry bushes way back when they lived there... that was way back in the 30's, but still... we don't see very many snakes around northern MN... aside from a garter snake or two I've seen in the woods...

Not sure what its like in the area we live in now but the previous area, had scorpions. One time we went to bubba's sis's house and right around her upper ground pool, I saw a scorpion or two. Then again, the ground around that area was kinda sandy so I can understand why those critters were there.

Your luck though where your at. I think PA was the same way too, just don't know why TX has to have all these icky creatures.

It's snake season I guess. Because last week when I went to Best Buy there was a dead snake in the parking lot and it was a lot larger than the little grass snakes I usually see. It looked like it's head got run over by a car since there was a tread mark. But it was very bizarre.

EEK! Course bubba waits till the last min to want to take a pic of it but he couldn't cause the snake was already buried under some of the trash I dumped in the bin. I still have yet to see a water moccasin up close too. Not that I want to.

Ack! Just reading that made me squirm. I would have fainted dead away *thud*

And oh! I might be able to make it to Akon - were you planning on going?

Yeah, for some reason, TX has to have the icky critters. At least in PA it seems the only thing you still have to watch out for are the rabid raccoons ^_~

Just wait till you happen to see what bubba found outside the front door yesterday!!!!!!!!!! THIS time, he took a pic of it and we're both still shocked on the findings.

Yup, I'll be going to Akon as well as [livejournal.com profile] wardove too this yr. Hope you'll be able to make it, if not, maybe Afest? They got some GREAT guests this yr!!! *bouncebounce*

Awwww <3!! I love snakes so much ^-^

Yes, yes .. i'm familiar with snakes in home areas . I live in Ft Worth, and yesterday I just found a six foot water snake in my backyard. I had my dad help me pick it up and we took it to set it loose in a field.

Poor dead snake in your garage ;-;

ACK! Sounds like a biggin you came across. I try not to touch them if I don't have to, I'll admit that I'm a puss when it comes to critters like that.

Just wait till you see what bubba found outside the front door yesterday!!!!!!!!!!! O_____________O At least this time, he took a pic of it and we're both still shocked on seeing one out in the open like that. I'll be making an entry about it probably later this morning with the pic.

I guess to me, snakes just feel weird when they slither on your skin. Plus it scares the shit out me when they wrap around your arm and tighten their body a bit. My ex-bf's cousin had a small boa and one time my ex put it on my arm before he held it again and of course it started to squeeze. I was like "get this fucking thing OFF OF ME NOW!!!!!!!" His cousin said it does that when it gets hungry, gee thanx for the info -__-;;;
