YAY! Tons and tons of thanx go to [livejournal.com profile] scarbie for solving this problem for me. While watching the dub of Gungrave, I swore, SWORE that Lee's VA sounded like Spike from Bebop but from what I gathered on where I got the list of VA names for the dub, Steven's name wasn't listed for Lee. Scarbie found out that Steven goes by ALOT of aliases. Sooooooooooooo................ we were right the whole time, our ears were not betraying us.

Here are the names that Steven goes by:
Steven J. Blum
Steven Jay Blum
Steve Blum
Roger Canfield
Richard Cardona
Steven Jay
David Lucas
Andrew Watton this is what he is going by on Gungrave. I'll also be fixing that with my past entry about the list of VA's.

This ALSO makes me very VERY happy for various reasons which I will make an entry about that pretty soon in order to prepare things for ppl if they want what I'm going to offer.

Thanx again for the info [livejournal.com profile] scarbie!

Steve Blum (that's what I've always thought of him as) is doing Lee?! WOW... 0_0

...and yet, he probably does a kick-ass job.

Yeah, Steve's a little bugger to remember. I usually just have to trust my hearing and recognize his voice because he has way too much fun with aliases. David Lucas is his real name though.

"Hey look, Steve CAN do the crazy high-pitch warbly scream!" My friend Paul, when we were watching Wolf's Rain and Darcia screamed.

This guy is everywhere! I think damn near every series I own he's in there somewhere. My first exposure to him was Cowboy Bebop so I always think of him as David Lucas.

Yeah, Steve's a little bugger to remember.
That description is so fitting because I was thinking, "That wily little bugger." *LOL*

My first exposure to David/Steve/Steven/Reginald (er, wait...) was in Toonami, since he does all the voicing for TOM, so I know him as Steve Blum.

I always think of David when I hear a 7-11 commerical on the radio, he does the spots for them *hehehehehehehe*

From: [identity profile] yankeerose69.livejournal.com

You know what I was thinking about doing to be funny, get a 7-11 cup and ask him to sign it for me *giggles*

From: [identity profile] yankeerose69.livejournal.com

I'll have to see where the closest 7-11 is by me and see if I can't do that. Just gotta remind myself to do that when the time gets near.

OOOOOOMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! That scream made me wanna cry even more than when I watched the subs. Holy hell! And the thing I can't wait now is hearing how he'll do Lee's crazy laugh. I hope he does a good job.

I'm thinking if Brad Swaile can do Quatre's crazy laugh, then good ol' "Andrew" can do it too!

Thats true, never underestimate a talented VA. Scott McNeil even did a voice for an old lady on the Tex Avery cartoon show. This old lady was going after a fly that kept annoying her.

Scott's in everything too. In fact, almost everyone in the GW cast (I'm thinking Brad, Mark, Kirby, and David were the only ones who weren't) was in Dragon Ball Z early on? And then they all skipped out mid-saga. I wanna say they dropped Funimation and then switched over to Ocean Group around that time.

Actually DBZ was done by Funi all the long. Just that Funi was going to Canada to use the VA's there and then when the Freeza saga started, they decided to keep their ass in Texas and use local peeps for the voices, probably saved them alot of money by doing that too. Though when it happened, I was like O_________O WTF! Is this shit!? Still not quite a fan of the "new" Funi DBZ versions, I was raised on the Ocean peeps, and Brian Drummond is who made me love Vegeta's character cause of that voice of his. (who he then went on to do Zechs thank the lord).

You're very welcome.

Beck, that's a great icon you're using for this post. *LOL* When I heard Lee's voice I thought, "Spike!!" and then I saw from your list that the VA's name wasn't David Lucas or Steve Blum. I felt like I was taking crazy pills! Thoughts like, "Maybe they couldn't afford him and got a sound-alike," popped into my mind. That thought was a little ont the crazy side so I decided to check good old IMDB to get some peace.

That icon has come in very handy for ALOT of things.

OMG! I was going nuts over Lee's voice. I'm like okay, this sounds like Spike but yet I don't see his name. I know I'm not going insane though some VA's do happen to sound like some others but DAMN IT! This sounds like SPIKE!

I don't know why but I *think* I saw Crispin Freeman's name in the credits for something regarding helping with the dub, not voices though. Unless I'm thinking of seeing his name as being one of the writers for Scrapped Princess. If his name is going to be on SP, I just hope they don't use him for Shannon cause Shannon isn't a deep voiced character. Plus I don't see Crispin doing a normal character without having a mean tone to his voice.

I have no clue why I brought his name up for >__<

But yeah, I can't wait to hear Steve do Lee's laugh now. After hearing him do Darcia's scream on Wolf's Rain, I can only imagine how the laugh is going to be *crosses fingers on that*
