I wasn't actually thinking about buying S&H on dvd but after talking to my older sis last week and her telling me how she broke down and bought it and laughed her ass off, I had to as well.
Finally got around to watching it last night since nothing was on tv and the net was boring (and I wasn't tired for a change O__O)
I'm glad I bought it instead of putting it off on either renting it or waiting till next yr or so when cable would show it. This was a hoot and a holler movie. Ben and Owen work together so well (though I wasn't too crazy about Zoolander). Ben mimics Starsky pretty good in the looks dept, hell, even better looking than the original. I couldn't stop laughing at the coffee scene and what Starsky was using for sugar. Snoop Dog actually made me laugh too, glad they decided to put him in it like that. Though that fur coat at the end was just too much *lol*
Not far into the movie, with the HUGE cast of peeps they had in it, made me think of another movie. Of course those that have watched it will go "Duh Beck, it says so right on the dvd box." But before I even looked to make sure, the first thing that came to me was Old School. Another movie that I haven't gotten tired of watching yet and thats all thanx to mom for showing it to me when I went home for X-Mas. I think the part that gave it away was having Vince Vauhn and Will Ferrell which having Will play that part of Big Earl was fucking hilarious, a bit scary but funny. Also the singer at Vince's daughter's party, he was on Old School singing at Will Ferrell's wedding reception. Then with Jason Bateman in it, kinda reminded me of The Sweetest Thing (though he didn't have a huge role in it, but he was there being goofy).
How typical of men being distracted at a woman changing in front of them though she was nude. No wonder S&H couldn't think of any more questions, though I think Hutch was ogling her more, his eyes were glued to her chest.
I haven't watched the extras and such but I wonder how many cars they went through? Some of the parts when the car landed from flying in the air, you could just SEE the frame of the car being bent.
Funny to see that the yr's haven't done too much to the original Starsky except grey in his hair but Hutch *shudders* ICK! I had to wonder if that was really him.
So if you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for!!?? Do it! Do it! *lol*
Now my rundown of Secret Window
I watched this the Sunday that bubba left for his schooling. Its been a loooooooong time since I read the short story in Stephen King's book "Four Past Midnight" though the story in the book is Secret Window Secret Garden (or vise versa, doesn't matter). OMG! This movie was intense! Some might think differently of it but I for one really dug it. So much so, I wanted to watch it again later that day but didn't cause I had stuff to do. I think what made the movie was Johnny Depp's acting and the guy that plays Shooter. Certain parts kept freaking me out and was even MORE freaked out when knowing who was behind it all of it. Almost kind fucks with your head like how Fight Club does. Then that Monday when I had to go to that class for work, I took my 4 Past Midnight book with me to read during my breaks. I did watch the commentary with the director about what they didn't add in the movie, what they changed, and what new things they did to give it that twist that the book didn't. Which to me, it was fine on how they did it. When you think about it, most of the time in books, it drags on so much with the dialog that it doesn't give it that much action. I still haven't finished reading the story yet just so I could kinda compare the two but hope to pick the book up again soon.
So yeah, another movie I recommend to see, if not for the weird story setting, then watch it for Johnny's character. He is so Mort that I pictured in my mind while reading the book. Plus the sexiness helps alot too. *drools*

Angst isn't too bad, just as long as it isn't over blown like how some can get.
