Well, I'm now hooked on a new anime that doesn't seem to be known by many called "Me!" errr.....I mean "BECK". *lol* Though it can't be about me cause I'm not a patch work dog. I saw one person on my flist talk about it and then I'm glad that wardove decided to cave in to it now. *snickers*

I'm hooked already by one eps and I can't stop laughing at the English they speak in this. The manga is pretty good too of what is released so far.

The animation design kinda reminds you of FLCL and the manga design is a mix of Mars, Kare Kano, and something else I can't quite place my finger on it.

The creator already has gained points in my book by having Ryuusuke Tanaka wearing a shirt that says Johnny Ramone and the ending credit pics kinda look like their own creative take on Kurt Cobain, RHCP, James Brown, and a few others I'm sure they are trying to blend in it. Once the kids finally form their band, I'm anxious to see how the singing/music is going to sound. The OP and ED songs for this are really good, they sing it in Engrish. In some clips, Ryu almost looks like a chick and though manga wise, the kid with the semi-fro and the facial hair (name is Chiba) almost looks like a young version of Chris Cornel from Soundgarden. Perhaps the creator to BECK is blending in some of their influences in music they like.

Actually it's Tanaka wearing the Ramone t-shirt at the end of the opeing, which I keep watching over and over. I guess the opening song kinda has me hooked. I'm so hoping to see at least a second or maybe a third fansubber snag this anime.

It so irks me that some animes get so much freakin' attention when others that are just as worthy or even more worthy get left by the wayside. Fansubbers are always saying they want series that not everyone is doing, well a series like Beck is a series would fit into that category.

I went through this with Kenran and it looks like I'll go through this again with Beck.

Sure thing.

I know the best thing I did on my 18th bday was getting my first tattoo. My sis's friend took me since we would go with her before when she'd get her's and it looked pretty cool. When she took me, the only one who knew about it was my sisters and though I'm not sure who told mom, I think it was one of my sis's. Mom, I'm sure rolled her eyes but I think she was just afraid of what my dad's reaction would be if he found out. So to get that out of the way, mom told him while I was out and he kinda threw a hissy but not as bad as when I came home that night. I had an alibi, I was of age, it was MY money, I had a job, paid my bills, it was MY body, but I guess to him it didn't matter since I still lived under his roof. *lol*

I think within time he just learnt to deal with it cause I was getting tattoos nearly every month. I'm just a rebel at heart, hehehehehehehe.

Of COURSE! I got them wrapped around my finger. Pffft! I wish though, cause if that were the case, there would be quite a few animes that would be changed cause of what I want to see happen *lol*

I was watching it again this morning while my hubby was in my room and when the title part came up, I was like "Look! They made an anime just for me."

He was like what? And then showed him the title screen again and he being the dork, said "how were you able to get them do make something for you?" DUH! hehehehehehe

I think this series will all depend on the tastes of what one likes. It does look kinda odd at first but it grows on ya. Same goes with the manga.

I like how Ryuu's voice is, especially when your used to hearing certain voices, when "new" ones pop up, its nice hearing something different. Even more funny when he tries to say certain words in english or how he tries to pronounce them.

I think this series is going to be something that will depend on one's taste. Hence why I don't really see too many ppl getting hooked on this series. I thought it looked kinda weird at first but it grew on me, same with the manga since the design with certain characters are a bit different than how they are drawn for the anime.

God is it ever! I just got done reading all 19 vols that are out right now of the manga and each chapter I was like just acting like a total music geek. Not only cause I love music but my ex-bf in high school, he and his friends were in a "band" that could never make up their mind where and when they were going. Good but worthless. So alot of this is right up my alley.

I'll be posting a link to some wallpapers I found on the site that has the manga as well. You'll be able to see what the boys look like a bit better.
