Last night was the city's x-mas party and all we had to say was O___O WTF!? This was a really REALLY lame party compared to last yr's. Last yr was at the one restaurant in town and it didn't take long for half the peeps to get drunk. This yr, they had it in this "community" type center building that one of the new housing developments let the city use. The food consisted of brisket, ham, COLD rolls, and potato salad. >____<

Its funny how we all were sitting cause the fire dept peeps were on one end and the city peeps were on the other. Course you can bring your own booze which a decent amount of ppl did but just didn't indulge in drinking like last yr. After everyone was done eating, you put your name in a bag so they could give away prizes (which was nothing much either). First name they called out.....Moi! *lol* I never thought my name was going to be called, so I picked the cute lighted up snowman that was on the one table. The name drawings is that you could pick whatever you wanted from the pieces that were on other ppl's tables.

Aside from that, once everyone was ready to leave or did leave, half of us were like "what now? this shit is so lame!" So a group of us just all met at the sports bar and drank a few and chatted. Everyone was pretty disappointed in how the party was handled this yr and I don't blame them.

I must give my thanks to the Alcohol god/dess this time around. I had ummm......4 or so bottles of MGD Light beer (ickick its sad when I'd rather have a Beck's than MGD) then when we went to the sports bar, I had one of those awesome mix drinks that kinda tastes like a tropical drink. I know that mixing beer and liquor isn't good but for some reason, it didn't affect me.

I was afraid when I woke up this morning that I'd either be #1. hungover or #2. sick all over. The only affect the booze had on me was really REALLY weird dreams. I'd take the weird dreams over feeling like shit any day.

Woke up going on 6am >________< but was worth it since I see that Comedy Central airs The Kids in the Hall from 6-8am.

Bubba decided to lay down for a nap, I tried to do the same thing but am too wide awake. It will no doubt hit me later for being up so long.

Got OODLES of baking to do today and was able to order my Outlaw Star dvd set this morning for X-mas. While doing that, I found another gem that I will be ordering once I get my X-mas money in the mail. They have the same kind of set like they are offering of OLS, for Trigun and around the same price! Trigun, you are SO mine!

Was going to write more about other things but am not in the mood to sit in front of the compy for too long today.

Ooooh, what was the price on the OLS set? That's a series I've been meaning to pick up for ages, but I'm not fond of picking up one disk at a time because of the price. If it's reasonable, I might consider picking that up, after the holidays, of course. ^_^

As for the party...good grief! If it's such an expensive undertaking, why not just not have it at all, or turn it into a potluck or something? I'd think that would be better than throwing a really cheap party.

Dove and I bought ours in the Used section on Amazon. Here is the link for the list. Now I don't know why they say "used" cause ours were still in its shrink wrap. And it is legit, no bootleg shit either, these discs are the dubs as well. I believe you get 3 dvds in a fold out case instead of big boxset. I wasn't allowed to really look at it since hubby took the package out of my hand and have to wait to look at it come X-mas.

I got mine REALLY quick! I placed my order Sunday and got it Tues, then again, I ordered it from someone in TX and found out that the area I got it from wasn't too far from me. Some want $27, some want $25, sometimes the same person will sell the same thing and you'll see two different prices, as far as I know, there is nothing different about the dvds. The person I bought mine from, they have one part where its like $25 and then the set I bought was $23, so I guess it all depends on who you want to buy from and what price you are looking for.

Yeah after this yr's party, I wonder why they even bothered. The food was catered by the one bbq joint in town but still, it was pitiful of what they had to offer. Now to see what kind of shit they will have next yr, I'm sure that during one of the town's meetings (regarding the ppl who work for the city and fire peeps) will bring it up about how they felt the party was handled.
