So does anyone on my flist like or have anything of Hoobastank's? I only heard two songs and seem to really like it, wondering if they are worth having on cd.

Another band I finally got into is Dave Matthews. I never understood what the big hoopla was about with his music back when he first came out and now I see why. I borrowed my b-i-l's cd this past weekend and got into almost right away. The only one he had was "Crash" and I'm hoping to see if he might have anything else that I didn't see. Alot of songs just scream "songfics" though its always hard to figure out just who it should be about. Though, I'm not going to stop anyone who would like to write fics or draw any pics for any of these songs that inspire you. I might even be able to upload the songs somewhere if someone needs them.

I also got a craving for hounding the net when I get time for some Gorillaz since lady_draconia has brought them up. Its been AGES since I heard anything by them (though ages is only like 2-3 yrs ago *snerks*). I've heard a lot of both(?) Hoobastank CDs, and I really don't know what to make of them. I mean, I hear them on the radio daily, and I sing along to the songs, but in the end, I'm so sick of them, and I find that they're really... boring. And every one sounds the same. But then again, I still sing along on the radio so, who knows? I personally would not spend the money on them, but I know they're widely popular and sell out their shows all the time.

As for Dave Matthews, I kind of feel the same way about him. My sister is a HUGE DMB fan, and again, he's always been there in the background, but I never paid too much attention. I don't own any. Dan does, however, and we listen on occasion, and every time I find myself wondering why I don't listen more, because he really is wonderful. I think DMB is on that list of "must haves" that I really don't have, lol. I guess that would mean I like them? *shrugs* I should really listen more, lol. And they don't play HIM nearly enough on the radio. My station should replace some of the Hoobastank with more DMB.

I'm thinking DMB has become a staple in the music world of the 90's. Kind of like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Maybe we don't all listen, but it's always there and more or less, we like it all.

I know what ya mean about being over exposed on the radio. Its one of the reasons why I only listen to talk radio on this FM station. Once in awhile I'll listen to reg. music radio, its also probably why I haven't been overly tired of hearing certain bands.

I know when DMB started to come out, I was in the Army so I wasn't able to listen to much that came out. A friend of mine in the Army was a HUGE DMB fan and he would go on and on about the music and wanting to see him in concert. I don't know if its the music or just the way he sings that lures me in.

I like Hoobastank but I don't have any of their music. Mostly I like them because I like looking at lead singer Doug Robb. (He's Asian-American and you know I'm a confirmed rice queen!)

Hmmm....never thought of that till you mentioned it and yeah, I think it would be a good one for that pairing. Though I don't write angst very well and I'd need something to jump start me into what to write. But its a thought well taken.
