Pond drew FMP! art for the first time which also inspired a ficlet from me which is also the first time I ever wrote for this fandom. So don't hurt me!

The ficlet:(wrote this in one sitting last night).

Title: The littlest things
Author: [livejournal.com profile] yankeerose69
Pairings: Sousuke and Kaname
Rating: G

It’s the littlest things that mean the most. Just take my word for it Sagara.

Standing over the field of wild flowers not far off from his favorite fishing spot, he kept contemplating Weber’s advice, though what did Weber know?

Apparently a lot more than you.

There were a few to choose from of different colors and sizes and decided on just picking a couple, he’d determine later which would better suit Kaname once he got back to his living quarters. Satisfied with what he had, he discretely checked his surrounding area as if to shake off his paranoia that just out of the blue, someone would catch him in the act of picking flowers.

Once he arrived to his apartment, he placed the flowers down on the table, though not long after, he was interrupted by an emergency call and left shortly there after. The time that it took to get to one place to another, only to find out that call was canceled, he had forgotten all about the flowers till it was too late. He stood in front of his table with his hands clenched at his sides in frustration, berating himself for not putting the flowers in some water before he left. Just as he was about to trash the bouquet, a single white flower fell from the bunch and landed on the hard surface. Picking up the lone survivor, he turned it over, inspecting it to make sure it was healthy enough to give away. The last thing he wanted was to give it to Kaname only to have the petals fall off and he being on the other end of her paper fan once she’d smack him for giving her a dead weed. This time he wouldn’t fail and walked to the sink to wet a paper towel, wrapping it around the stem of the flower, hoping that it would hold up by the time he met up with Kaname.

“Speaking of which”, he checked his watch to make sure he wasn’t running late. “If I want to be at the park before she gets there, I better leave now. I don’t like the thought of her going by herself just to meet me, though it was her idea and I surely couldn’t say no.” She wouldn’t allow you to say no to begin with. The train ride to the park was a mission in itself, the mission to keep the small fragile flower from being crushed by the overly crowded train car. He’d do anything to protect his mission from failing even if he had to take down a few people in the process.

He wiped the sweat from his brow as he stood at the park bench they were to meet at and inspected the flower again, it was still holding strong and for that he was ever grateful.

“Sousuke!” The familiar voice that swept through the air caught his attention and turned to watch the girl approach him. “Sorry if I’m a bit late, those trains were a mess.”

Sagara Sousuke had no clue what happened. He was dumbstruck as soon as he saw her waving from a distance and even more so once she was face to face with him. The warm tingly feeling running in his veins froze him on the spot. He’d seen her in different outfits but the way she looked today took his breath away.

“Sagara, are you feeling okay?” Kaname questioned him in concern as she placed her hand on his arm.

Realizing he was still holding the wet paper towel in the other hand, he knew he had to give it to her now before he’d lose his nerve. He let the towel slip from the stem and grabbed her free hand, startling her in the process.

“Here.” He held the flower close enough in her line of vision.

“Huh?” Kaname stared at the small white flower trying to comprehend it all. Though knowing how Sagara is, she was use to his short outbursts that had no explanation to go with it. Except this time; this time she knew he was trying his best. He still had yet to let go of her hand so she reached out to grab it with the other and smiled appreciatively at it. She couldn’t stop the blush from creeping to her cheeks either, this had to have been the sweetest thing he’s done for her. Clutching the flower between her fingers, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

“Thank you Sagara, it’s beautiful.” She wanted to giggle at the redness of his face but decided not to ruin the moment.

He finally found his voice but had to think very carefully on what to say and what not to say. “You’re. . . you’re welcome.”

Kaname slipped her arm through his and motioned for them to go for a walk.

Hearing her hum a happy tune, he couldn’t help but smile as he watched her. The mission was a complete success and who would’ve thought that he’d take Weber’s advice and actually have it work without getting hurt or screamed at before the day even started.

*claps* You're into FMP as well! And Trigun! We seem to have quite similar likings.

//The last thing he wanted was to give it to Kaname only to have the petals fall off and he being on the other end of her paper fan once she’d smack him for giving her a dead weed.//

Very, very likely, considering Kaname's temperament. Dead weed indeed!

//The train ride to the park was a mission in itself, the mission to keep the small fragile flower from being crushed by the overly crowded train car. He’d do anything to protect his mission from failing even if he had to take down a few people in the process.//

*chokes* All right, how many people did he tackle/maim/bruised/sent to the hospital? Heh, I love Sagara's cluelessness and his utter earnestness in everything he did. Btw, you know that Sagara's Seiyu is the same one as Brandon Heat? And Ken from Weiss Kreuz.

Loved the ficcie, you brought the picture to live, and it felt like something that could have come straight from the anime ^_^

Now, when are you writing more for Gungrave?!

Yup, yup, I adore FMP and Trigun though I've became more of a fan of the manga of Trigun than the anime (after realizing how there is just sooooooooo much more that the anime has jibbed us fans out of)

*chokes* All right, how many people did he tackle/maim/bruised/sent to the hospital?

*lol* I'm surprised no one has asked me that earlier though I was waiting for it. I guess it all depends on who got too close to comfort with one little bump ^_~.

Heh, I love Sagara's cluelessness and his utter earnestness in everything he did. Btw, you know that Sagara's Seiyu is the same one as Brandon Heat? And Ken from Weiss Kreuz.

I think thats what makes Sousuke's character. I'm just glad he's got a little sense of his surroundings instead of being like a total emotionless robot like how some characters are.

Oh indeed regarding the voice. I think when I was checking out to see what GG was about, I came across the voices and squeed when I saw Seki's voice, though tis a shame that he had to do a character that barely spoke, but it seemed fitting. (I also love Ken, Seki has also done another character voice on Tenjou Tenge called Mastaka who is like THE spitting image of Ken *lol* too freaky) Did you know that Aya's voice from WK was Lee in GG?

Glad you liked the ficlet. I was a bit rusty since its been awhile since I watched the series but I guess it can come natural when it pertains to certain characters and how they behave. I wanted to try and give it that feel that showed us how they were in the anime too.

Now, when are you writing more for Gungrave?!

Hopefully sometime soon. I have a few ideas jotted down, its just the idea of trying to kick start my brain into gear on writing them. The one I do have started is a Brandon and Maria smut fic but I got side tracked on writing other fics for different series. I got stumped half way in the fic cause its like trying to pull teeth with Brandon when it comes to sex without either making him be too OOC or just getting the guy to move *laughs*
