Since I haven't seen anyone mention about this, not even on the SP comm, I guess I might as well. The happy!happy!bouncy!bouncy! news is that the Scrapped Princess dvd is coming out April 26. What I found out though will either make me or break me when I decide to make up my mind. ONE good thing though is that they are offering us the same dolls that they did for the Japan releases::

Pacifica for dvd 1.

Raquel for dvd #2 in June.

I already know I'll be buying the box with the 1st release BUT I'm not sure if I want another box just for the doll when #2 comes out. I can't quite remember if they offered a Shannon or Leo but if there is a Shannon, I'll probably break down to get that. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't having to pay more just for another box with each release. (yes you can get the dvd w/out the box but you won't get the doll).

It'd be nice once the dvd comes out if ppl would be able to check it out more, this seems like another series that hardly anyone has talked about or seen, which is a shame cause its an interesting and cute series. Though given that its by BONES, they seem to be well known for their fucked up endings or torture certain characters such as Wolf's Rain and FMA so the storyline to SP is a bit weird and the ending seems rushed but its still worth it. There is also news of the manga coming out by Tokyopop Aug.9th. I had a few downloads of the manga but the art is a bit "eh" and I'd rather have the novels translated than the manga.

The listing of the dub voices and thoughts are under the cut

I'm nervous yet anxious to hear this dubbed, I guess for the most part, just to see how its going to sound with certain ppl doing voices that I know or heard of before. Keep in mind, I'm not going to name every single character the VA has done, more than likely animes that I have seen or heard of before.

Shannon - Crispin Freeman. Truthfully, as if I didn't see that one coming. I will say this though, I'm kinda iffy. Course the voices I'm familiar with that he's done is Alucard, Amon, and Alex Rowe. All 3 characters in my opinion were emotionless or monotone (though yes, Alucard did have his excitement moments but he was still serious). Shannon from time to time is moody but not in the monotone, emotionless way. Plus there are times when he spazzes out either certain events or Pacifica in general. And lets not forget him crying too. So all I can say is, I hope Crispin doesn't disappoint me. (though sometimes, a character that is voiced by Shinichiro Miki, its going to have to take alot of convincing of the dub VA to please me *laughs*)

Raquel - Bridget Hoffman
Credits - Trigun as Rem Sayblem, Wolf's Rain as Cole (ep 5), Outlaw Star as Melfina.
I think she'll do a good job with her.

Pacifica - Kari Wahlgren
Credits - Gungrave as Mika Asagi, Wolf's Rain as Cher, Witch Hunter Robin as Robin.
(Nice choice for Pacifica *nodsnods*)

Zefiris - Kate Higgins
Credits - none I heard of

Winia - Michelle Ruff
Credits - Gungrave as Maria Asagi, Great Teacher Onizuka as Urumi Kanzaki, Last Exile as Alvis E. Hamilton, Witch Hunter Robin as Dojima.
(Another good choice)

Christopher Armalite - Steve Staley
Credits - Gungrave as Jolice, Gundam 08th MSTeam as Shiro Amada, Outlaw Star as Harry McDougall
(Hmmm.....that will be debatable. I do like his voice but I'm just hoping he'll do good with Christopher)

Leo - Yuri Lowenthal
Credits - not very much listed nor any I heard of.

Forsythe - Dave Wittenberg
Credits - Gungrave as Kenny, Witch Hunter Robin as Michael Lee, Great Teacher Onizuka as Koji Sannomaru, Ryuji Danma, Tadashi Sakurada, & Yoshito Kikuchi, Speed Racer 2000 as Speed.
(another one that I can't judge till I hear it. His voice varies with me on opinions)

These characters listed, I can't quite recall who they were in the anime unless someone on my flist recalls.

Luke Storm - Steve Blum
Credits Cowboy Bebop as Spike and of course TONS others.

Doyle Barrett - Kirk Thornton (also has different aliases but I also know him as Ron Allen)
Credits - Gungrave as Brandon/Grave, Cyborg 009 as Jet Link/Cyborg 002

Galil - Lex Lang
Credits - Gungrave as Bunji Kugashira, Kenshin as Sanosuke, Gundam 08th MSTeam as Ginias Sahalin

Diana - Wendee Lee
Credits - Cowboy Bebop as Faye, Great Teacher Onizuka as Anko Uehara, Azusa Fuyutsuki, Miyabi Aizawa,Mrs. Sakurai, Tadashi Sakurada. Outlaw Star as Twilight Suzuka, WHR as Miho Karasuma

(other characters listed that didn't ring a bell or are probably not important in the series)
Rita
Fafal
Dennis

So thats it for the time being on the cast.

Here is Bandai's website for SP. If you move your arrow to the left, the menu will pop out to where you can see a clip of just what the anime looks like, wallpapers, icons, & other stuff. The one thing that doesn't make much sense is that for Shannon's character profile, the characters they have of him on the right, they also have Fulle in there in both normal clothes and when Fulle had to dress as a chick. By doing this, they are going to be confusing ppl thinking "well Fulle is Shannon" in which he's not. The only thing in common they have is how Pacifica thought that Fulle or Shannon kinda looked like each other, that was about it.

I'd like for ppl to give it a try if they want to see it in order to make up their mind so what I'm going to do is offer maybe 1 or 2 eps of the sub IF there are peeps on my flist who would like to see it. I'm not going to upload it if I don't get a response on anyone wanting to see it. YOU have to tell me yourself.

Will work on happy!happy!bouncy!bouncy! news part 2 tomorrow.

I´ve only seen some scenes of Scrapped Princess. [livejournal.com profile] haibara_kun has watched it and said she liked it a lot. Maybe I should watch it all, the characters looked very attractive.

Aside from the messed up storyline, I think thats what drew me to the anime is the characters. Very clean, bright, and adorable. If you ever get the chance to see it again, I wrote a fic a long time ago if you ever want to read it.

It's weird, while I enjoyed the series when I was watching it... I don't know that I'll go out of my way to see and/or rent it when it comes out. Don't know why... I have the same vibe with Full Metal Alchemist, I try to watch it on Cartoon Network and if I forget and miss it... it's not a great loss.

Don't feel bad, I get the same way. Though for some reason, aside from the weirdness of the storyline, I liked SP, not sure what about it I liked though.

I'm the same way you are right now regarding FMA. I tape the eps on tv, watch them and delete them; it hasn't pulled me in to buy the dvds cause I'm not that much of a fan of the anime (I like the manga better). If I want to see it when I get the need, at least I have the subs handy. Same goes with Wolf's Rain and its also why I'm selling my dvd, box, & wolf plushie, hell, I never even watched the dvd and I gave away my sub discs to a friend cause it was a series that I could only hack watching once or twice, it was a tad too confusing and depressing for me.

Wolf's Rain... yeah I hear you. I did watch it the first time around on Toonami but buy a single dvd? Nope.

FMA's manga is wild alright. ;)

Ooo! I was wondering when this would be released. I've seen the anime via subs, but...it would be much interesting to see it dubbed. I'll have to check it out, thanks for the update!

I'm so anxious not only to have it FINALLY on dvd but just waiting to hear the dub has me on the edge of my seat. Glad to see a few more peeps speak up on my flist regarding this series. I was beginning to think that we fans were very rare.

Ooh, I'm definitely going to want this one on DVD. And yeah, when I first read Crispin's doing Shannon, I had a kind of "Hm, really?" moment. Definitely not the first person to come to mind, but we'll see I suppose.

I really should not get so excited every time I see Steve Blum's name on a cast list. *shakes head* He's not even a major character, apparently. (Although if he was Fulle, I think I would die with giddiness. Yes, I WOULD.)

By the way, Beck-sama, my Gun Grave queen, any idea when the GG box set is to be released?

From: [identity profile] yankeerose69.livejournal.com

Just something in the back of my head told me that he'd probably be doing Shannon's voice or ANYONE in the series. Thats why it wasn't overly surprising when I saw his name. Though I'm wondering who they are going to get to do Fulle's voice. I just hope its someone else and not Crispin trying to disguise his voice just cause he looks like Shannon, I'll be pissed.

I hear ya regarding anything with Steve in it *laughs* You would fall in love with the man even more if you ever have the chance to meet him in person. I should've asked him if he was married.

As for Gungrave, there are 2 more dvds before the complete set is out. May 17th for #6 and the last one comes out in July. They probably won't come out with the full boxset till all the releases are out. And even then, it might take a yr if not sooner or longer for them to finally release the full set. Can only hope it doesn't take forever.

Re: new Hellsing Anime!!!

It isn't a hoax, going to go with the manga more and it is sponsored by Geneon America. They said 35 minute long with no note on how many eps.

Re: new Hellsing Anime!!!

What kills me is that they wait THIS LONG to create something like that??!! That should've been on their agenda in the first place. Can't wait to see it though.
