Saw a preview link to the Duke movie and had to check it out.

WARNING:

Take it with a grain of salt. DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING like how the tv show was. In fact, think of it as the dorky spoof like what they did with Starsky & Hutch.

Casting:

I had no idea that this was what they settled for. I know mid last yr there were talks of different guys for Bo & Luke but the ones they stuck with still actually has me laughing over it.

Johnny Knoxville as Luke

Seann William Scott as Bo (seems like he's the dimwitted one of the cousins)

Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse (which I can actually see him playing that role)

Wow, Lynda Carter is in this but I wonder who she's playing as.

The downside of the movie::

Jessica Simpson as Daisy. I think I'm going to be sick. If anything, this would be the reason I would not go to see the movie (and yes, I wouldn't mind seeing it). That fake southern drawl makes me wanna spork my eardrums.

Burt Reynolds as BOSS HOGG??!!!! WTF! Last time I checked, Boss Hogg was short and FAT!

Rosco and Ennis (sp?) never heard of the actors before and they seem pretty lame.

The one good thing is they are at least keeping with the traditional style of the General Lee. If they would've fucked that up, you know the true Duke fans would've had a shit fit. Besides, you can't have it being the Dukes of Hazzard without the traditional style of the General.

Learn something new every day. I never knew that though I was a huge Duke fan when I was little, had the matchbox car sets and everything. Was Moonrunners a one time deal made for tv or what?

No, it was a movie made at least a couple of years before The Dukes of Hazard was made. I remember ABC showed it on their Sunday Night at the Movies when Dukes became popular. I guess they were hoping to cash in a little on the popularity since Dukes was a CBS series. *grins*

I was looking Moonrunners up online and the synopsis calls it a comedy-drama but I don't remember it having much humor. The villians were real villians, not two boobs passing for the sheriff's department and a power hungry munchkin with half baked ideas.
