For those that didn't know but ABC will be airing the tv movie "Desperation" Tues night @ 8pm EST (7 CST).

The book was pretty whacked, I'm curious to see how they will create a movie out of it. I just don't want it to be a disappointment.

It's been AGES since I read the book, I believe the last time I read it was in late '97 - early '98. I can't remember what came first, Desperation or the Regulators.

Seems like an interesting cast they have going on: Steve Weber, Tom Skerritt, Henry Thomas (the main boy from E.T. O___O) and the best part Ron Perlman as the creepy sheriff.

I also came across an blurb that they are also working on filming a television mini-series adaptation of Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Stephen King's collection of short horror stories.

I've always wondered if they would try and make reg. movies out of the Gunslinger series. Actual movies, not tv stuff. Though I'd be afraid to see how much they would fuck up. I have yet to see a really good King book done well either for tv or movie. I'll be a dork and say that either Maximum Overdrive and Christine were tolerable.

So how you been doin?

Oh, I'm so scared of what they would do to The Gunslinger etc. NOBODY is cut out for the part of Roland but Clint Eastwood, and he's way too old now. Debra Wilson from MAD TV would be great as Susannah, though. Could maybe get Johnny Depp or Joaquin Phoenix for Eddie (one of those hot guys that always looks like a heroin addict, anyway ^_^). But NOBODY but Clint could ever be Roland.

I have to say that The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption were both excellent. Most of the others, to me, were just crapped on by TV or film.

Yeah, I'd be afraid of how much they would ruin Gunslinger too.

NOBODY is cut out for the part of Roland but Clint Eastwood, and he's way too old now.

*laughs* You have a point. From some of the art pics though in the books, in some ways who could play a younger version of Roland I can pic Hugh Jackman, as crazy as that sounds.

But your other choices for the characters would be awesome.

ACK! I forgot about those other two movies. I really liked Shawshank and I feel bad for saying this but I never had the chance to read or watch The Green Mile. Though I think my roomate has it on vhs. I'll have to try it out sometime.
