guardianhunter, her friend, and I will be there this weekend (Sat & Sun). Sadly, there isn't much about the con really worth going for this yr. We're pretty much just going to do the cosplay scene since, I again, got myself a new costume. I've been wanting to do this for awhile now, I just can't believe I'm doing it so soon.
Which is.....Fullmetal Alchemist...Mini-skirt Riza andguardianhunter's friend is going as Roy. *giggles* Oh yeah, those that are going, you better get pics while you can cause this is a rare sighting to see ME in a SKIRT!!!!!!!!
It's crazy how we can come across ideas to cosplay on the spot. Back in June, I'm not quite sure how it came about but I think I was looking at some Roy pics and I told Anna that Adit would make a good Roy. She couldn't agree more and not long, proceeded to persude him to actually do this!! I mean this is coming from a guy who doesn't know anything about anime or about who he was dressing up as. Funny how the one time he did catch an eps of FMA on tv, it was during the Roy and Ed fight. I believe he called Anna that night saying "I'm dressing up as this guy?" *hehehehehehe*
We warned him early and almost every time we saw him about fangirls and how they behave. But then again, he might actually start liking the attention if they hound him. Nothing this Riza can do to fend them off. I just hope he'll be a good sport once all is said and done and that the fans didn't scare him away from trying it again.*snickers*
I still have to find a water gun that actually looks something akin to a gun (even if it is a funky color I can just spray paint black) but those that I did see were big bulky futuristic looking buggers. Walmart didn't have squat (and I don't feel like toting around a plastic rifle either) so I guess I'll try the $ Store and Family Dollar later today.
I'm only going to post some sample pics of "Roy" since I wasn't overly happy how mine came out. I'll wait till my hair is the color it should be. We tried lightning it last weekend, I didn't want anything overly bright blond but shit, I didn't think the color I got wasn't quite blonde enough. I've let my natural color grow out for a few months, so with the dark hair and this duller blonde, made my hair have a slight red tint to it >_____<. The ends are a light blonde but the top of my head has the tint.
I hope by Monday I'll have some pics to post worth while once I get back home. So till now, here's Roy.

The night before we went to the con, I actually found a gun that kinda looked like one. (the one that comes with the suction cup darts) I guess Walmart got a shipment of the cheap toys the last time I went shopping cause they didn't have them before.

Oh no, I don't think I would have any sanity left if we had to try and make these ourselves.
Since we had time to plan the costumes out in June, I called up the main big costume place in Dallas. They told me that they did take orders for ppl who needed stuff made. The only problem was they kept dicking me around and after 2 weeks of getting nowhere, I said fuck it and started surfing around online. Pretty sad that BOTH costumes were much cheaper buying them in China then someone who was based in Austin. I found this place through ebay and not only did they do excellent work, I got the package in a week's time. AND they kept in contact through emails unlike other places that take forever to get back with you.
Maybe you can make it to Otakon 07? And we can chase down Roys together? :-D
I always heard horrible stories about that con from both the fans and the guests, I was always iffy about ever wanting to attend. But since its such a close con to home/family, I would LOVE to have my youngest nephew cosplay as Capt.Hitsugaya since I would like to go as Matsumoto next yr. He would make the cutest Hitsu too! (gotta find time to post my nephew's pics). Since I'll be turning 30 next yr, I would like to do something for myself. If things go okay with us and my work place, we'll be going on another cruise in mid June so I should have enough vacation days saved up. Plus I'd also like to go to AX eventually but that all depends on what kind of guests they get.

It is quite an addicting series and manga. Though I avoid the fillers like the plague. Funny how for the longest time, everyone on my flist was so gahgah over Bleach and I didn't think much of it till
And not only that, I kept telling myself I was NOT going to ship anyone in the series but as you can see, that didn't work. It was going pretty well on my word till I got to eps. 32 and then it all went downhill from there when I became a full blown RenjixRukia shipper. Probably the only pairing I really delve into.

He proceeded to inform me that he insisted on being called "the furor" to which I said he wasn't the "furor" to which he said that Roy seemed... "sissy" I believe is the word he used and I said he could be "the furor in training"..... FITting to be called FIT.... *LOL*.... anyway, you had to be there and I digress.
I can't believe my child has actually agreed!!! *LOL* (he is my "3rd child" btw-- do I smell another cosplay in mind??? ~_^)

BTW, Dude.... I ruined BOTH pairs of gloves so they're just gonna have to be worn the way I did them. *shrugs*

*happy sigh* Exact same situation here. Add on top of that I swore I wasn't going to lose my heart to any of the characters, either. 32 ended that for me, too.
