AX news license releases

Just reading up on things on what was announced for license at AX this past weekend.

Jyu Oh Sei - anime (Funimation), manga (Tokyopop)

Darker Than Black - anime (Funimation) and for those that don't know, there is a manga out there that I found the first translated chapter this weekend. Haven't looked at it yet.

Devil May Cry - ADV

Blood+, Blood+ Adaggio, Blood+ Yako Joushi, Blood+ (novel) - (Dark Horse) I have no clue what those names means behind the other Blood+'s.

Gantz - manga (Dark Horse) which I'm really surprised it took someone this long to pick it up.

And the new One Piece dub cast from Funimation:

Luffy: Colleen Clinkenbeard
Nami: Luci Christian
Zorro: Chris Sabat
Usopp: Sonny Strait
Sanji: Eric Vale
Chopper: Brina Palencia
Robin: Stephanie Young


And that's all I got to report from it that caught my eye.

I felt the same way about the anime when I read about it being picked up. The manga was going to come out in Sept of next yr but since TP heard about the anime being picked up, they are pushing their release date earlier but it didn't say when.

I still hate the ending but...I think the manga has more substance from the little I could decipher (and my picture reading skills) *grrr curses the fact she hasn't MASTERED japanese (maybe in 10 years ...)

yeah and I think the relationship between Tiz and Thor is a little more fleshed out in the end than the anime.
Cuz the anime pissed me off...like he loses what'sherface and than decides that it's ok to go off and make babies with Tiz *which seem more out of pity than anything else* argh!!!

I've seen th epost at the OP comm about the new Funimation VAs... all I can say is that Sabat seems to have been in everything. X_x; Otherwise I can't say much. I generally recognize VAs when I hear them...

I look forward to hearing how their cast will sound. Now I wasn't too bothered with Luffy or Nami's voice from 4Kids but I'm sure Funi will make it even better. It's been ages since I heard much from Eric Vale, he was Trunks on DBZ and I finally heard him doing one of the main character's voice on BECK: MCS, so I think he'll do a good Sanji.

I HATED that fucking name!! I swear 4Kids should be shot, ran over, and then shot again. Every time I heard Zolo made me think of Rolos...mmmmmmmmm....chocolatey caramely goodness!

I've been having mixed feelings over the manga as of late. Ever since "you know who" was offed. It just seemed like everything was thrown in at once and all of a sudden these creatures and other "dead" ppl have showed up. It feels as if the creator lost sight of what he was doing, especially when it came to the vampires and shit. But I'm still trying to follow as much as I can cause I want to see how it ends.

yeah...i will be honest, i stopped reading it after "the person" (hahh) was killed. but i was content enough with an ending like that where i have no interest in what is happening anymore. i might read about it on the community or on wiki if and when it ends, lmao but i do agree the creator seems to have lost it a bit. but it happens. at least there is a decent amount of volumes to keep the fans happy...or me at least, lmao.

If your curious about the other Blood + titles this is the scoop (Stolen from wikipedia)

* Blood+: The official adaptation of the TV series, by Asuka Katsura (桂 明日香, Asuka Katsura?), serialized in Monthly "Shonen Ace".
* Blood+ Adagio: A story focused on Saya and Hagi's past in Russia, by Kumiko Suekane, serialized in "Beans Ace". Consists of two volumes.
* Blood+ Yakou Joushi: A Hagi solo story, prior to the events of the TV series, by Hirotaka Kisaragi, serialized in "Ciel". Consists of one volume.
