Het Con (with pics) and birthday goods

Yeah, better late than never.

HetCon was held at blkros's place the first weekend in July and as usual, I was the last to show up that Fri night cause of work. But it was awesome to finally meet some ppl in person that I've talk to online; wickedchild_md and toriru4ever. Sorry that I missed that ones that showed up last yr and couldn't make it to this yr's. Fri night/Sat morning, I stayed up till 6am yapping with wickedchild_md while she was trying to finish up everyone's badges. Wasn't sure how much longer I would've slept in if bubba calling my cell at 10:30 didn't wake me up. Also, ppl realized in person just how much I love Renji/Rukia. *laughs* Ya think it had to do with the huge RenRuki dj collection I brought along, both sets of plushies, or my phone straps? *giggles*

Sat. evening we did sushi and OMG! the Happy Salmon I ordered was so fucking gooood!! I just wish I knew other sushi places made it. I know I didn't see it on the Benihana menu. Afterwards we went back to the house and did karaoke with plenty of alcoholic drinks of course *lol*. I never thought I'd actually get the nerve to get up and sing but finally pushed myself to do so. The lady had some pretty decent songs in her book to choose from. Though of course fangirlsdelight and Mikey put on a pretty good show. *laughs*

Sun just hung around and chilled out before and after we took toriru4ever to the airport. :( Oh, we also stopped at the anime store before taking Mona to the airport but was a good girl and didn't buy anything though a few things were tempting. The main anime for the weekend was Lovely Complex. And speaking of that series, I didn't know there was a Live Action version out there. I saw someone had theirs for sale the week after the con on LJ.

Felt nice to get away like that and hang out with ppl in the same atmosphere.

Yesterday was my last free day before having to head back to work today. :(

Sat. night bubba's nephew and gf came over to chill out and stay the night. Kinda celebrating my bday and Megan's bday (last month) since she turned 21. Picked up booze to take to the house and stuffed ourselves full with chinese food. I made some pretty yummy frozen strawberry margaritas and then floated around in the pool till midnight.

Last yr. over at gun_grave I had a drabble thing going on and threw out the idea to scarbie about Spike's goggles and Jyuji's thoughts on what made him take Spike's goggles with him. So she finally was able to write it just in time for my birthday. What an awesome surprise!

To those interested, I also went and uploaded the movie clips from Gungrave Overdose from the game. You can get a feel as to what the fic is about but of course, some of the meaty stuff is covered when you're playing the actual game that the movie clips don't show. Damn I love playing this game.

I think alot of ppl get a kick out of the badge line for the con though it's so true.

Oh god! When I first saw the pic for the new plushies and the expression on Renji's face was so priceless, I love it compared to the irked look on his face when that first set of plushies came out. It was a little hard to have a cute RenRuki plushie scene with him scowling the whole time. I can't wait to take some more pics with the new set.
