Better late than never.

Had muchos fun this past weekend. Was happy to have been with friends who I haven't seen since Afest and then meeting new ppl ontop of that. The headache I had since late Wed night of course didn't go away till I got home on Sun. evening. But it felt so good to be back in my own bed, slept very, very good Sun night.

I really liked the area where they picked to have the con, it was just down the street from the state capitol and the view was pretty nice, plus certain places to go eat and such were just a few blocks to walk.

The infamous 6th Street wasn't too far and Anna and myself had some silly run ins on Thurs night while looking for liquor. Then Fri night, Anna, Steve, and myself walked to 6th street again to get some grub and came across this street painter (which I have a feeling is a college kid) doing some awsome shit with spray paint on this hard cardboard like the solar system and space pics. I took a few pics of that and now after bubba complained to me about it, I should've asked the dude how much he was selling his paintings for.

I really liked Ushicon better than Afest. One being the dealers room and the amount of GOOD vendors they had compared to the shit Afest gets (which is pretty sad) and 2ndly being that I think kept to their schedule as to what all was going on, considering that they didn't have many panels and it seemed to be more focused on watching anime that I already have at home or for my computer.

I enjoyed sitting in on Truth's plagiarism/copywrite and I even learned a few things. Since the panel was on Fri, I was wondering if we were even going to have any ppl show up for it but a handful of ppl filtered in.

Then I mosied on over to the cosplay panel to see Holly, Erin, and Jase in the spotlight and even threw my 2 cents on a few things as well, it made up for the morons from ADV.

Course on Sat is when the most of the crowd came in and you could barely walk through the dealers room. Fri. I dressed as Ran from WK, had a few pics taken and tackled by a few fans. Sat. I dressed as Colonel Une for half a day since on Fri, this kid came up while I was Ran and told me that he and another person were going to be Ken and Omi so I gave in and said I would try to see what I can do come Sat. Well he saw me as Une Sat while he was Ken, I told him I would change and by the time I FINALLY did change, that fucker changed back into whatever costume he was in Fri. *RRRRRRRRRGH!!!!* But at least the girl who was Omi wanted some pics taken of us posing together which then led to some strange experiences for me.

This one girl wanted to take my pic and after she was done, she asked for a hug cause Ran was her fav. character O__O. First for me to have been asked that while in costume. Then again, I was glomped by a few more fans, and then later tackledglomped by more and well, I was overwhelmed, I surely didn't get that experience during Akon or Afest, must be whatever is in the Austin air ^_~

Saw another chick as Colonel Une on Sat and was SCARRY AS HELL!!! scary as in a bad way. Again I don't like to toot my own horn but shit, Jen and I at least know how to KEEP IT REAL when it comes to getting the costume down pact to the original design that is on the show and on the character. *shakes head at crazy to do cosplayers*

Kudos to Holly and Erin on their Escaflowne Movie character costumes.

Enjoyed the stuff they showed during Ecchi hour and the hentai fest, very tastefully done considering they didn't show any TENTACLES!!! It saved my poor eyes on watching that horrible crap!!

The animes I was really shocked that they showed were::

Spiral 1-6 (I believe, I don't have the con schedule in front of me)

Naruto

Fruits Basket I *think* 1-6, if not more

Weiss Kreuz Gluhen O____O 1-4 (yes I'm still shocked that they were showing it already at a con)

Witch Hunter Robin

and a few others that I can't think of at this time.

Then they had a "This season in Japan" which discussed some of the new anime that is now in Japan. I didn't go to it but when I saw in the program book Wolf's Rain I fucking FREAKED!! Which by the way, I downloaded #4 when I got home from the con on Sunday and its such a pretty anime and I really like the concept behind it with the wolves/humans. Kiba.....*drools*

I knew there was also another anime I wanted to watch at work tonight but forgot was WK Gluhen #5. I'll try to work on that one tonight instead.

All in all I had a good time and for once was able to see a few things that the con had to offer unlike the stuff I don't get to see at Akon or Afest. I loved seeing my friends again and meeting a few others and I didn't want to leave my friends since I usually only get to see them once a yr *sniffles and hugs all of those that I met*

I hope everyone made it home okay. I also hope to see a few other ppl's pics since I didn't take too many and forgot to take a pic of Anna in the kimiono.
