Normally, I don't give a rat's ass about it but I wanted to watch it since the Foo Fighters were going to perform. And god bless the DVR so I could pause or ff parts I didn't want to see. Congrats to the Foo Fighters for winning Best Rock Album, though seeing who they were up against, I would've been pretty pissed off if they lost. Half the ones listed I wouldn't even consider rock. And an award for Best Hard Rock Performance - "The Pretender".
Aside from that, here is the Foo Fighters live performance with the introduction by Jason Bateman. For those that don't know who he is, John Paul Jones is from Led Zeppelin (he was the old guy conducting the orchestra).
The one thing I'm tired of seeing ppl write (in regards to the comments left on YT about this clip) is about how "Dave is no Kurt." No fucking shit sherlock! I wouldn't want Dave to sound or act like Nirvana. I'm really glad that Dave has the success that he does, cause it goes to show life DOES go on without Nirvana. And he doesn't even milk it on the fact that "yeah, I was in Nirvana so I deserve the recog. bitch!" He is his own person and style. Who knew that the drummer had this much talent that was hidden behind the Nirvana name?
Other bits and pieces about the Grammys is that the whole show overall was very shaky. Just about everyone who was introducing on stage stumbled over their words or act like they didn't know what they were supposed to say next. I mean, weren't they reading stuff off the teleprompter cause someone had to have written something for them to say aside from the writers strike.
I'm curious as to what animal Rihanna killed with that horrendous outfit she wore when she sang with The Time.
Aretha Franklin, someone should've had one of those toys that when you flip it, it moos. Looks like she was wearing a yellow curtain, someone needs to lay off the fried foods, god damn!!
Kanye West is such a fucking douche bag!!! He kept rambling on when he got his first award and they started playing music as if to say "get to the point and get off the FUCKING STAGE!" He had an attitude about it going "come on, you guys are going to play music over me?" And even after that, he STILL took forever to wrap it up.
I'm so sick of all the Amy Winehouse bullshit but I gotta admit, I kinda like her style of music. It has that early '60's feel to it that seems to be extinct now a days. And if you never seen pics of her, you'd think she was a black singer.
Jerry Lee Lewis, could you die already, you fat old fart! Pretty sad that Little Richard still has that energy that Jerry can't even muster up.
Tina Turner still has a nice body but I'm sure it's about as fake as her face. Needs to quit taking lessons from Cher. Tina's voice sounds okay but it's getting too nasally, probably with the nose job she had done affected how she sounds.
I think that's all I have to complain about.

And all I have to say about your comments regarding Dave =/= Kurt: AMEN! I have never once compared the two men or bands and I don't think I ever will. Dave moved on folks, can't you?

I'm glad Dave made something of himself after Nirvana and never had to rely on the name to get anywhere. During his thank you speech, he mentioned that he now has a baby girl (and his wife was in the audience), awwww....go Dave!
