One of the better highlights of my week when I got this in the mail. There are two different versions of this: Orange and Green. I don't plan on getting Green since it didn't interest me much and the song I wanted off of it, I was able to get from someone. But I got this since I was dying to hear Beat Crusaders version of "Kids in America" since I always liked that song. And now when I listen to it, I can't help but grin. Hell, I even heard a certain song before I went to bed last night and I actually could feel myself smiling when I went to sleep. It put me in a better mood than what I've been in as of late and I even felt better when I woke up this morning too.

Just like the AC/DC tribute album, the songs are re-made by a bunch of Japanese bands. This came out in '99. There are some songs that #1. I haven't heard before and #2. just not overly crazy about. I'll put the original artist behind ( ).

Thoughts on songs:

1. Never heard the orig. and don't care much for this remake either, probably the only one on the cd I didn't care for.
2. Interesting
3. Like it
4. The remake is weird but the original is normal.
5. I like this version, like how this sounds, kinda soothing.
6. Never heard the orig. but it's a very goofy song.
7. Like it (then again, I do like Hall & Oates)
8. A tad techno'ish
9. I never thought I would see a Japanese band cover a Deep Purple song, well, at least this one. But I like both versions.
10. Good
11. Never heard of the song but it's not bad.
12. Never heard the orig. and not fond of the remake.
13. Come on, it's the Beat Crusaders, what kind of reaction did you expect from me? Song rocks a tad harder than the orig. Course it kicks ass. The only thing that is kinda funny yet weird is that on the actual file, it's titled "Lids in America." Ummm....I don't know about whoever created the cd but they are CLEARLY saying KIDS not Lids.

I also went ahead and just uploaded the Kids song for anyone who just wants the song and not the whole cd.

"Kids In America"- Beat Crusaders

Looking out a dirty old window
Down below the cars in the
City go rushing by
I sit here alone
And I wonder why

Friday night and everyone's moving
I can feel the heat
But it's shooting
Heading down
I search for the beat in this...

Down town the young ones are going
Down town the young ones are growing

We're the kids in America
We're the kids in America
Everybody live for the music-go-round

Bright lights the music gets faster
Look boy, don't check on your watch
Not another glance
I'm not leaving honey stop

Hot-shot, give me no problems
Much later baby you'll be saying never mind
You know life is cruel, life is never kind

Kind hearts don't make a new story
Kind hearts don't grab any glory

We're the kids in America
We're the kids in America
Everybody live for the music-go-round

Come closer, honey that's better
Got to get a brand new experience
Feeling right
Oh don't try to stop baby

Outside a new day is dawning
Outside Suburbia's sprawling everywhere
I don't want to go baby
New York to East California
New wave coming I warn you

We're the kids in America
We're the kids in America
Everybody live for the music-go-round

We're the kids
We're the kids
We're the kids in America

And one more song that came from the Green cd:

"99 Luftballoons" - Beat Crusaders. I gotta say, Hidaka sings German pretty well for a Japanese guy.

If anyone dl's it, feel free to tell me what you think, especially if anyone else is a fan of the 80's music like I am.

Ohhh thanks... nabbed that Beat Crusaders version of 99 Luftballons, will listen when I get home later. Should be interesting. :)

I love 80s music - even the really cheesy stuff!

Smiling's my favorite!

Hell, I even heard a certain song before I went to bed last night and I actually could feel myself smiling when I went to sleep. It put me in a better mood than what I've been in as of late and I even felt better when I woke up this morning too.

Well... scientists do say that if you go to bed smiling at night, you'll wake up smiling in the morning-- feeling better, refreshed, having rested more.....

Hmm... maybe I should try that concept... O.o.... let me try it now. Wonder if it works w/naps......... _-_zzzzzzzzzzzzz
