Yes, that was called for an all caps intro. As of today, I have one more month till my ultimate two week vacation. *squeals!!!!*
I'll put everything under the cut.
So
toriru4ever and I finally decided to go to Japan this yr instead of holding out till next yr. Which after all the bullshit that has gone on with the airlines, I'm glad we jumped in when we did cause prices AFTER the dates we settled on to, the prices were waaaaaaaay high. We are going to be there the 18th of Oct-Nov.2 (we arrive in Japan on the 18th though we fly out Fri morning).
Just the thought that I'm FINALLY able to do this makes me giddy w/ a side of a belly full of butterflies.
I've been saving up for this vacation for over a year now and damn it, it's about time I can take a well deserved vacation for myself!!!! And it wasn't easy trying to earn the $ I did for this trip.
I was almost afraid that my vacation dates would've been denied at work cause of 4th quarter starting soon but I think they lifted the vacation ban during 4th quarter like a yr or two ago. It just took my douche of a super to quit being lazy and approve my time off, which is a lovely long two weeks. Though I'm sure it's not going to feel like it's two weeks since this will be my first time over there.
Plus we will be celebrating 2 birthday's and a divorce. Lucky for Mona that her bday will be while we are in Japan. I think picking Oct to go is a good time frame. Not only do I love Oct but the fall season as well.
We have a few things in mind that we want to go check out but haven't set certain things in stone yet. And we would like to try out a real onsen too.
But I do know this.....
I'm hoping to go to at least two concerts while there. The one that is already planned and tix'ed for is to see Gallow in Kobe (Club Chicken George) on 10/24.
Gallow is a side project that Hidaka (v./gtr) and Kubota (bass) from Beat Crusaders created back in '06. It's pretty much acoustical than reg. electric. Plus Hidaka isn't the main singer on 'Parkest' but he does do alot more vocals on 'Too Virgin'. They have two albums out, Parkest which I have uploaded for those who want something different, and Too Virgin is the new one that came out in July (which I will probably buy while in Japan). This is pretty much a once in a lifetime chance to see this band live since they are only doing maybe 4 live shows for the new album. I've never been to an acoustic concert before and I think with all the chaos that has been going on in my life since March, a mellow show is what I need to experience.
This almost didn't happen for me since I wasn't informed about the group till AFTER the beginning of July (I'm such a HORRIBLE fan for not knowing about this project!!!) When I went to check on tour dates, for the show we are going to, was sold out back in June when the tixs went on sale. Luckily for me, I found 2 tixs on Y!Japan auction and I wasn't going to breathe a word about the tixs till I had them in my hands (which I have received and scanned).

Here are some links on Gallow:

3 songs from Too Virgin - These were taken from the myspace page and I uploaded them.
Too Virgin - You can hear samples of the songs by clicking on the speaker icon.
Diary entry of one of their shows. The 2nd pic down is Hidaka (L). Of course they're not going to show you a full pic of his face.

And the other show that I just found out about is.......
Beat Crusaders are going back on tour starting on Halloween for the "Shoot the Sky" tour. The only thing that annoys the shit out of me for both of these shows is NONE OF THEM ARE IN TOKYO TILL AFTER we leave to come back. Maybe it's a way of saying "you might as well see as much of Japan while you are here." *laughs*
So yeah, for both the 31st of Oct and the 1st of Nov, they are playing in Hiroshima. The 31st takes place in Yamaguchi Prefecture and thankfully this time I'm not in the dark on when tixs go on sale which don't start till Oct.4. Here is the schedule for the Shoot the Sky dates.
And if able to acquire tixs for the show, I shall be able to die a happy, blissful, and complete death.
As for right now, that is what is going on. I will update if anything new comes up before and when it is time to depart.
ETA: Yeah, seeing Beat Crusaders is out of the question for Hiroshima since the 31st show is too far to travel to and the 1st we probably could have if we weren't flying out on the 2nd. Oh well, another time. At least I get to see A show that has a member from BECR in it and just the right one too I wanted to see in person!

You deserve this to be an awesome trip, for so many reasons. Good for you for actually making it happen, instead of just wistfully dreaming like so many of the rest of us.

I guess you could say we are still pretty much planning things out as things come up. I really don't have anything special in mind since I guess this trip will be for me to take everything in and find stuff out. All the concerts I want to see are out of the Tokyo area >___<, I think the closest one was a 2hr train to Sendai but that's on the 1st and we fly back to the US on the 2nd (around 5pm). There is like hardly any shows during the full weeks that we're going to be there; they're either too far away or they have the show the day before or the day we head back.
We are heading to Kobe on the 23rd, go to the show on the 24th, and leave on the 25th but I do believe we'll probably stop in Kyoto and Osaka on the way back.
I hope there will be some pretty scenery cause of the fall season.

I expect details.
ha ha ha....
I'm excited you're going!! That's awesome and you really deserve it.
I hope that you are able to make the most of it w/o too many worries, concerns or.... um.... *whistles innocently*.....
~_^
*HUGS*
It'll be good for ya!!!
YAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!
