When making sizing images for a mood theme, they can't exceed over 100 with W & H correct? Or better yet, what is the best # to use for the W&H when making mood themes?

If anyone can answer this sometime today would be of great help!

As far as I know, the images themselves can be any size. I've seen some annoyingly large ones. :S I like 60x40px just because it's small enough not to make a short post feel cluttered, but large enough to still see the image. I think it's just a coincidence that that adds up to 100 - your current mood theme is larger than that already.

I think it's just the URL for the pic can't exceed 100 characters. At least, that's the only thing I can find in the moodtheme FAQ.

I know I recall seeing a mood theme one time that they were nearly as huge as icons. It looked so ugly.

The 100 characters part is what confused me when I was checking out the FAQ before making my entry.

There are some that are sized 90x45 and they still look nice and clear. I can't do that with my images w/out looking too squished or blurred. So right now I've been having to make them 100x75.

That seems fairly reasonable. I think you just have to keep the same ratio and they'll look ok. Not sure how they scale for people with funky resolutions, but that's not really our problem. ;)

When I made a moodtheme, I just picked out the base pics, I wasn't the one doing the crops, so we have now reached the extent of my knowledge. :D Hopefully yours will turn out ok!

While I think of it cause I was able to finally get my fanwork journal layout working again, but can you see my entries: http://community.livejournal.com/becks_closet/

I noticed that when I went to LJ on my laptop and wasn't signed in, I couldn't see the entries but once I logged in, I could.

I think ever since LJ messed around with the Basic and Plus accounts, it also screwed up layouts for S1, especially if you had a custom layout created. It also did that for my BECR comm and the entries would show up to non-members if I had a paid account. I'm not going to be wasting anymore money to LJ just for these accounts of mine. The person who told me about my BECR comm wasn't a LJ account holder at the time.

Yup, I can still see the entries while logged in.

I just hang my head and sigh every time they start to make changes again. Not sure why they feel some stuff just doesn't need to be documented, argh! I don't ever want to change my layout, for fear it's precariously balanced, and any slight edit might send the whole thing toppling down. :P

The 100x100px limit is only for the icons. Mood Themes can be as big or as small as you'd like them to be. As [livejournal.com profile] akuni pointed out, you could always reference to the mood them faq...

Hope this helps! ^_^y
