I guess this is the winter that we have been waiting for all yr. I just hope that it got it out of its system till the next winter. If I would've watched the news before I either took my nap or after I woke up, I would've called into work tonight but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I was too damn dumb to even use my brain. Its cold as fuck and what really kills me is how they are calling for 50's on Wed *grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!*
Where we live, it was only a tad wet and even halfway on I-20 heading to Dallas, it was pretty decent. That is till I got closer and closer to my destination. Not so much that it was sleeting but I couldn't believe how much shit the roads had on it already. That area must've got hit mid afternoon. I'm just glad the morons in this state kept their asses home cause there was less traffic and very very little accidents (hell I don't think I seen any on the way to work).
I must say, and no, this isn't the Yankee in my saying this either, I handled my car pretty well for how the roads were. I couldn't believe that it sleeted so much that it actually looked like snow. The thing that irked the piss out of me was ppl who drive full size pick up trucks and act like "Dar dar! I'm a redneck and I drive a pick up which also means that I can drive faster than anyone in this cotten pickin icy weather and not give a damn if I feel as if I'm jeapordizing anyone that I'm driving past."
There were a few pick ups that passed me and one car that acted like there was nothing wrong with the roads. Then as I got closer to Dallas, a 4 lane highway turns into 2 1/2 lanes. I realize that you can't see the lines and the road wasn't quite that thick with sleet that you couldn't see the reflectors peering out on the road to let you know that YES, that is a lane. I think the really bad spots were the over passes and bridges compared to the rest of the highways. Also I was doing 40-45mph and kept control of the car, I think this is the first for me to drive in this shit AND in a car. I'm so use to my 4x4 Bronco I had back home in PA. or when weather gets this bad in TX, I usually keep my ass home.
There is no way in hell I'm going to brave the morning traffic and the roads so I made sure to pack a bag to take with me. My work place has a motel set up for us employees when bad weather strikes and need a place to crash till the next work day PLUS they also remburse you for using your money for the room. (this is the first time I ever had to do this so I'll see how this goes) Thank god its just across the street and don't have to worry about driving too far. I also have a feeling that yeah, traffic might be pretty nil but that doesn't count that the roads will be in any better condition (which I'm sure will lead to more accidents this morning since ppl in TX don't know how to drive in this stuff, they either drive too fast or they are always got their foot on the brake) It'll suck not to spend time like this at home but it keeps my ass safe *tis why now is when it would be a good time to have a laptop handy:(
I knew that CN was in talks of airing EVA on and it shocked the hell out of me to even see them show Nadesico but I didn't think it was going to be this soon. I wonder though if this is just a one week thing since it is Giant Robot Week or if they are going to continue to show it? I mean why only tease ppl with one eps and then not show the rest? I have the 1st dvd of Nadesico and I couldn't give a rat's ass about EVA but I can give it another try again (the very 1st eps turned me against it since day one back in '00 when a friend brought her tapes with her)
I also started to watch Kare Kano tonight at work and tis a cute anime but AGAIN, a few parts made me want to cry.
*sigh* Time to watch more of it since the workload has been very slow tonight, plus I want to take a nap!!!!

Ooooh, Kare Kano! I have the first DVD (must get the rest!), and so far I'm loving it...though you're right; if I'm not laughing hysterically, I'm practically in tears! I'm interested to see where the series goes from here...especially since I've heard that the anime is based on a manga series, and doesn't follow it through to the end. -_-
