*slaps forehead* Must go to show how much I've been in lala land. Missed two bdays yesterday. So happy belated birthday to my crazy brit friend Saz who is 20. And out of the ones to forget (which I knew it was soon but not this soon) was John Lennon's bday who would've been 62 this yr O__O. *sniffles* Goes to show what a bad fan I am for forgetting.

Got Barb's WK discs in the mail today *squee!!!* and I did want to watch the two raw eps of Gluhen tonight but got sidetracked into finish reading one of my books (will explain later). But also am a happy camper cause I can now listen to WK music on my long journey to and from work. ^__^

Tues night I FINALLY got to watch Yami No Matsuei and just as I was really getting into it, Wardove FORGOT to put in eps 11!! -__- Not only that but it sucks to watch eps 8 with no subtitles. So until I can get my hands on eps 11, I can not finish the anime.

As for tonight at work, I was in that bind as to what I wanted to do to keep myself busy. I couldn't add onto my fics cause most of my notes are at the house, I wasn't quite in the mood to watch anime, and there hasn't been any good fics posted lately to even think about reading. I think the GW community is finally starting to slowly fade. I've been in the fandom since late '99 and I'm already starting to feel the burnout and to the point that finding good fics (that is of my preferences) are scarce. Maybe thats a good thing on my part but I'll still collect doujinshis though. Gotta make my hentai collection bountifull than what it already is. *hentai smirk*

So since there didn't seem like much for me to do, I decided to pick up on finishing my Stephen King book Black House which is a continuation of Stephen and Peter Straub's book The Talisman. I was estatic when I read the intro to BH and realized what it was about!! I'm just about finished with it and the thing that kinda irked me is that it took nearly 400 pages in order for it to really pick up. AND to where it gets really creepy that it was actually freaking me out in certain parts. I have always been a fan of King's books but in my opinion, I think he's really starting to slack in the "interesting, grab you by the balls" dept. His newer stuff just isn't like how his older stuff use to be. I've noticed that in the past newer books he released not only dragged on but to the point where I was kinda getting disppointed to where I want to yell at the book "get to the point already!" Dreamcatcher was a fucked up book which didn't make too much sense and even though they are already in the process of making the movie which is to be released sometime next yr, I do want to see it but I have a feeling I'll be disappointed in that too after reading up on how they changed the characters for the movie *GRRRRRRRR!!!!!*

A few books right now off the top of my head that I enjoyed were Dark Tower series aka The Gunslinger (which I still have to read Wizards and Glass), Rose Madder, The Stand, The Talisman, and The Eyes of the Dragon. The ones I can think of that I thought sucked was Geralds Game, The girl who loved Tom Gordon, and Bag of Bones.

*looks at time* YAY! Got 10 mins before I get off work but dread the hr and half drive home.

I did a little joy bounce when I saw the book was out.

I read The Talisman years ago, but if I remember correctly, that one took a while to get started too, but I really loved it.

I'm surprised The Talisman was never made into a mini-series (I was soooo disappointed by the ending of Storm of the Century) but maybe now, with the second book out, someone will.

And I'm glad to hear you are working on some fics, now how about getting one of them finished and posted?

Yeah the Talisman took a bit to get the whole thing revved up but not as bad as how Black House seemed to have draggged on.

Funny you should say that, I was thinking the same thing this summer when I re-read Talisman before I read BH. I think it would be neat to see it as a mini-series but I'm afraid as to how much they will ruin or cut important things out. I don't recall seeing much of Storm but I did see Rose Red (which is funny cause King even mentions it a little in BH) which was really fucked up. I think some of the older movies that they made from his books should be re-done considering all the stuff they can work with now a days. Such as Salem's Lot (could the vampire in the movie be a little more cheesy??!! sheesh!) and Cujo. But I think that my fav. so far from his short stories turned movie was Maxium Overdrive and Stand By Me.

I'm crossing my fingers on that. I have so many that I've started and would love to finish, if only myself would co-operate with me to get motivated. I get sidetracked easily =3

Re:

My favorite is The Shawshank Redemption (I'm still kinda mad that Forrest Gump won over it as best picture) and I thought The Green Mile was great too.

Salem's Lot was cheesy because it was a two part made for TV movie, originally.

Haven't read nor seen Shawshank or Greenmile but I did hear that both were good as well.

As for Salem's Lot (which I'd rather read it), I didn't know that. On top of that, the other week or so, not sure what channel it was but they did a Return to Salem's Lot *groans* -_- The only thing that they spawned off of King's that was okay to see a two parter was Pet Semetary 2. I'll admit that it was uncalled for to do but it wasn't all that bad. Just like Carrie 2 The Rage (almost forgot about that one) wasn't too bad either.
