Rules for AnimeNorth and no this is not a joke

When I saw this on a voice ML I'm a mod for, I fucking freaked! This is just too much, not only is it not being fair to the fans who paid hard earned cash to come to the con but its not fair to the guests who are there for THEIR fans. Who's to say if the rules will change come time for the con but this is what they have stated for the time being, who knows, the rules could get even more tight come con time.

I know I'm not going to feel bad (about not going to AN),
especially after I found out how strict their rules were. You get an autograph card that entitles you to 1 autograph per guest. NO pictures in the lines. NO stopping in the halls for chit-chat, autographs, or picture requests. So if you get cut off, you're screwed. If you can't go to one of the three social events, you're screwed as well, because that's about the only time you'll have to talk with the guests.

One thing I noticed about Akon last yr when it came to Scott's autograph session I believe it was that Fri or Sat (I'm sure War Dove knows what I'm talking about). Scott had a panel to go to so those who were in the line to see him, they would give you a number so that way when his panel was over, he was going to resume signing again (I'm sure he has nothing else to really do) and those with given numbers would be the ones to be in the front of the line. Dove and I got out of line instead of waiting for the numbers so we could head down to the panel and get a good seat. Did the panel thing, ran back upstairs to get back in line and since we were closer to the end of the line, we weren't overly rushed to meet, greet, and sign stuff.

But seeing how strict they are going to be with all 6 guys (I take it that Brian will be at AN), I can kinda understand their ways but not like this.

So I thought I'd go ahead and pass the news along for those who are going and such, like I said, things could change but for now, this is what they have posted.

Not entirely sure about Brian being there, but remember Hikaru Midorikawa(YUMMM)is going to be at Anime North... it's going to be a frickin madhouse with a seiyuu of his caliber there... they just need to work on getting a better system organized (like the one you mentioned at Akon) ...

The A-Kon system worked pretty well. I was one of those that had to get a number and true to their word, they put all the people with numbers in the front of the line.

At A-Fest I kept getting cut off when it came to getting Kirby Morrow's autograph. If it hadn't been for Anna, I never would have gotten it.

I got Kirby's at AnimeBoston...the lines were moving really slow, but they kept saying no pics with the guys, or hugs, etc. But most of the guys were really nice and posed for pics and stuff anyway.

I know the rules to AN are pretty strict, but I think I read somewhere that there were ways to get around them.

I really can't see the guys turning down fans when it comes to the stuff that the guys love and do the most, its like the main reason why they are there, its not for the con or the ppl who run the con, they are there for the fans.

As for AN's rules, I have a feeling that the guys or one of them won't like it and still do what they feel is good for their fans. These con ppl expect you to just plop your stuff down to sign and get the hell moving. But its not like that, the guys love to actually have conversations with the ppl that took the time to come see them. These con ppl can be so damn rude.

Yeah, Anna is a lifesaver. She's working the guest section for Akon this yr. But that sucks that you had such bad timing when it came to Kirby.

Yeah I bet thats going to be great to have dueling Heero's. I think Midorikawa might get a kick out of it. Alot of cons need to have a better system thats for sure.
