Christ, if it isn't bad enough that they are working on a live action Evangelion movie, could this be any worse?

-New Sailormoon TV Series Announced--

The Japanese Sponichi Annex newspaper has reported that Toei will begin airing a live action Sailormoon TV series this October. Sailormoon creator Naoko Takeuchi seems to have very little involvement in the production as she herself wonders on the official
Japanese Sailormoon homepage what the new series will be like, specifically questioning whether the series will be a female sentai show like the Toei produced Abaranger and Kamen Rider TV series.



--Live Action Transformers Movie?--

According to the Hollywood Reporter, quoted by Ain't It Cool News, producer Don Murphy (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) and writer/producer Tom DeSanto (X-Men, X2) have partnered to develop a feature-length, live-action Transformers movie. Presently the
production is still in the planning stages with no studio support yet, so only time will tell if the project will move forward into actual production.

Then again, there were talks of a live action DBZ movie but I haven't heard any other news since the first time. I'm too scared to see how that would turn out *shudders*

I had no clue there was going to be an Eva movie, and personally I have no problem with that, IF it's doen well (and I realize it's a BIG IF). But what I would LOVE to see is George Lucas or Steven Speilberg come out with a Gundam Wing movie. That would be SO cool!!

I heard that the DBZ movie was in "Production Hell" meaning theyare having a lot of problems trying to get past the production stage. thats why you haven't heard much of it.

Personally I don't blame you for beings scared I heard a rumor that they were trying to get Lionardo DiCaprio to play Fuiture Truncks. @_@ XP

Doesn't surprise me that they would be in Production Hell when it came to doing a RL DBZ movie, everytime I think about it, I cringe.

I just got my copy of Request magazine today...and I really hate to say this because the thought of it makes me shudder too...but the live DBZ movie is supposedly scheduled for release next year complete with hefty hefty (rumors of $100 mil) budget.

It also says that WB is making a live action Akira, the director of XXX and The Fast and the Furious is remaking Kite, the producer of Schindler's List and Minority Report bought the live action rights to Lupin the 3rd (I know you hate that one. Just imagine how odd and spastic it would be on the big screen. o.O), and Ninja Scroll is also scheduled to undergo the real people treatment.

Scary, ain't it? I kinda miss anime fanaticism being a fringe movement...

I can only imagine it would cost that much considering what DBZ is and all those special effects they would have to do.

I heard about the live action eva too..and sadly..I really don't wanna see it...I mean..I really loved the series and EoE and I just can't help but feel that there isn't any actors who can really take on the role of Misato, Asuka, and Rei. *sigh* NO no no no no..tell me this isn't true!!!

Yeah I totally agree. I mean to find ppl in Hollywood to fill in these roles is a multi task. Its almost as bad as them using real actors/actresses voices in anime movies like Princess Mono and a few others. Give me original VA's any day.

I can't imagine what the cast is going to be for all these anime movies they want to release.
