As for my question regarding the Hokages:

I take it that they appoint a Hokage regardless if they are alive? Since it seems like the 1st and 2nd were teamed together (or am I wrong on that?) Then you got the 3rd and THEN the 4th was appointed even though the 3rd was still around. How does that system work? Anyone?

The benfits of being the most powerful shinobi in the world: Got no real job, have pretty much a 24 hour job planning bad things and running away from anbu, have to wait three F^&* years to get anything done, really ugly coats, walk a lot.

Wow, I see why Itachi wanted to kill his whole clan and destroy the respect of being the strongest part of a noble clan for that.

'Bout damn time too!! Though I felt bad for Shino, though he should be lucky that he didn't get involved in that mess.

That would be, well, neat to see for Sakura to exceed over Kakashi. It should make him proud that she was his student. But ya never know, she could do it.

Regarding the Hokage system, I think they appoint the next Hokage when the current one is ready to retire. I'm not sure if the Shodaime and the Nidaime worked together as double Hokages. But they were both alive when they appointed the Sandaime as Hokage. And the Sandaime was also alive back when he appointed the Yondaime as Hokage. (This was the reason why Orochimaru hated Konoha and the Sandaime. The Sandaime chose the Yondaime as Hokage over him.)
